i completely agree with EmceeCrash05. they remind me so much of snow patrol in so many ways. i loooove this group and this song, i was first introduced to them when they opened at an Augustana concert, and i enjoyed them nearly as much as Augustana themselves. (and it's only nearly because i didn't know any of their songs at the time) |

this song is incredible - it's about how we're ruining the beauty of nature and of this world with chemicals and industrialization and it's so immensly sad becaue it's so true. my mom played this for her friend and had to stop it in the middle because the friend just broke down in tears. it didn't have that drastic of an effect on me, but it's definitely one of my all time favorites of shawn colvin. |

this song is incredible! it's about unrequited love that hopefully someday will be fullfilled. i got the song from someone i loved and everytime i was with him seemed like "just another night" to him. or day, really. (that sounded sexual.. haha, wasn't. at all.) i still have hope for the future, though. |

i love this song. it was given to me by a guy who i really liked, so obviously i had associations with it, but i let the potential between us die by not telling him what i felt in time, and he started dating one of my friends. now that's her favorite rhcp song and it's because he sent it to her. so now i'm sad when i hear it but still happy because it's just such a good song. sorry to bore all you with my drama. |

i agree with gladius, "you lie awake at night, with blue eyes that never cry" is an amazing line. to me it symbolizes someone who is so lost or depressed that they just can't cry, they don't know who they are or why they're so insignificant.. or something along those lines. hard to explain. but incredible song. |

something about this song. EVERYONE can relate to it. ok, not everyone, but everyone who has ever had real romantic feelings for anyone in their life. i'm not even going to read these comments because i obviously have my own associations with it and i don't want those to be muddled with what other people think - no offense to anyone, of course. but goo goo dolls are my favorite band, and this is my favorite song, and it's just - incredible. impossible to describe in words. that's all. |

^ thats mature.. this is a good song. i have yet to decide what i think the real meaning is because there's obviously a lot there. the most basic meaning i get from it with no depth whatsoever (sorry!) is that she's in love with someone who really has no idea who she is, but she'll keep loving him and looking up to him regardless. you can pretty much tell that straight from the lyrics, no reading between the lines necessary. definitely a good song, though. |
