I dont know if you guys know or not, but the credits to this song go to a Vicent Ford. He ran a soup kitchen in Trenchtown, and was said to be a very sympethetic man. He would often feed Bob and his friends and give him a place to stay. Supposedly he siad to Bob that he knew that one day he would be someone big. So all of the royalties of this hit song go to his soup kitchen. This song has been covered by so many HUGE aritsts, and the song itself has become of an icon. And marley knew this, and found an opportunity to help. This is how real Bob Marley was. There's no reason to R.I.P., because real artists,of which are very few, never die. We'll see you soon. Everyone knows,even Nelly himself,that Nelly is one of the ebst examples of why Hip Hop is dying. However,i must admit,that this song is actually pretty good. I heard it on one of my friends mixtapes, and i was blown away. Its got an R&B/Reggae feel to it, and isn't like Nelly's other "slow" songs,it seems to be more real. Nice song. |

Angelito is the saddest Don song i've ever heard. Anyways,the song is about two guys talking,Romeo(from the bachata group aventura) and DOn Omar. DOn is telling Romeo about his affair he is having and how he loves the woman,but because she is taken,they have to love in secret. Romeo tells Don that he shouldn't have to hide his love for his lover. He tells Don that the woman's husband must not of treated her right and that the woman should belong to him(Don). Romeo tells how great it is when you love freely,offering the example of his own wife and himself. In the end of the song Don tells Romeo that his secret lover is none other than his(romeo's) wife. Romeo gets pissed,and Don is sorry. If i was Romeo i would have kicked the shit outta Don,of course Don is a bit bigger. Anyways,good,but in LAtin America overplayed,song. There is actually a spinoff song of "Ella Y Yo" called "La Traicionera". It is from the womans point of view. The artist if Glory. |

This song to me is about those people who act like they are trying to help,but they are hypocrtical or judgemental about it and their intentions aren't exactly true. I can see where people get Joan of Arc,and it may be about her,i am not sure. It took me a while to get used to it,and it took me forever to recognize exactly what tune the first line was from(O night divine),but it is actually one of my favorite MCR now,but i can see why they didn't put it on the CD,i think it's a preferred taste song. I am 16,and I just recently listened to the song,and i just thought it meant that his girl(or obviously now his wife) left him,thus drowning,without even thinking about him. So when she comes back,he will do the same to her. Whats the big deal? This was one of Phil Collins first songs right? Well,he probably knew people were going to go all freaky about it,and i wouldnt be surprised if he spreaded some of the rumors himself! Lol. Either he is a business genius or people back then were a bunch of idiots. Anyways,i love the song. And it seems like tons of other artists do too. About the whole eminem thing though,you would think people would get the idea by now that eminem isnt the most serious guy. Eminem himself has a bunch of songs that are much less subliminal than this one about killing,raping and leaving people to die. Lol. |

The Baha Men were a half way decent calypso band,but this kind of song will do it to you,and it's not their fault. I mean,you have a music that doesn't really have much potential in the U.S.(read:market),but you have a big enough fan base in the carribean to get some hip hop(which always sells)/pop crossover song. Of course the song has to mett cetain standards,which are usually not those of the artist or band. But if you could do it for a cool mil so would you. Anyways,Who Let The Dogs Out,written by Anslem Douglous(who knows a thing or two about soca and calyspso) writes the song,the lyrics are soft enough for radio,something new in terms of the whole Dancehall feel,and a catchy chorus. The song secured the cash,along with the fall,of the Baha Men. I mean you can't keep on making hits like that if your brea through is something as weak as "Who Let The Dogs Out". It's over. The same thing happened with Kevin Lyttle and "Turn Me On". It's carribean music,so remixes will keep it alive for a while,and long enough for the record label to suck out all they can get from the artist whose genre will soon pass out of fashion,as Sean Paul. Baha Men mae good music. But thank the fans for ruining their future career. |

I Love This Song! With the possible exception of "Blind As A Bat", this is my favorite song off of "The Monster Is Loose". I guess it's just about living this crazy life and just doing it. It's a good "Eye of The Tiger" type song. "The Monster Is Loose" is no where near as good as Bat Out Of Hell or the Sequel,but then again did you really think it was going to be? "Alive" is a really good song. If you didnt get the album,at least take the time to download this song,if you're a Meat Loaf Fan,it will be worth it. |

This song is so personal to me.I, lke most of you have a story to go along with it. My girlfriend dumped me for her ex,which she said she would never love again. Unfortunately, she lives in Honduras,Central America. My parents and I were missionaries there. We recently came back to the states,when only 5 months later she called me and told me what happened. I was and still am heartbroken. This song has helped me a bit(either that or made it worse,lol). Anyways my two favorite lines are these.

Sad song. Probably the most popular "dark horse" hit among the newsboys tunes. It's about,probably a father,whose daughter commits suicide. He tries to go through it and "solve" it by himself. He goes through alot of confusion and obvious heartbreak. But at ther end of the song he finally hands everything over to God. I don't really know what they mean by the verse "We havent a hope beyond your grace",if this is talking about God's effect on the father,i would most definately agree. But i disagree with the fact that anyone who commits suicide like the song descirbes as a chance of going to Heaven. But its still a good song. |

I havent read all the comments,so i'm sure someone has already said something similar,but i think that this is a nice simple song. I'm not into this kinda music much,but when i first heard it,i thought it was something from a decade ago because of the voice. I really liked the song because of what it was saying. Most of you are older people who think this a childish game. BUt nothing hurts more than the absence of hope,whether is be with an ex or anything else. I have a personal story about why i love this song,but i am sure it isnt anything that hasnt been said before. The use of the F bomb,i thought really put a nice spin on things. Because when you're feeling this stuff,it's not all nice and SOPPY. I think the whole high thing doesnt mean off marajuana,but just numb and mesmerized. His "plan" is simply to live or try to. Where the video comes into play. I am glad that they made a simple video for a simple song,even though it became a radio hit. I think the main goal of this song,beside Blunt's personal feelings, is to paint a picture of what it's like without hope. And it usually hurts more when its considered with love. My girlfriend recently dumped me for her ex,and this song kinda made things worse,and yet better at the same time. It's easy to say the song is lyrically dumb and stupid and pointless,but sometimes those are the ones that hit the hardest. |
