The last set of verses are definetley about someone who puts on that fake image to fit in and they regret it.
I think the song is about someone who starts off or is born middle class, but doesn't want to be it anymore, then becomes rich and realizes that they aren't happy, but pretend they are. |

This was the first song I ever heard by Broken Social Scene. I can't remember exactly where I got it from, or how I even found out about them, but I do remember having this song on repeat for about 5 hours. I think what made me fall in love with it is "Heart is pounding in his chest..." and the three lines that follow it. |

Prison Province is a perfect transition into Blues for Uncle Gibb, hands down. I can't think of better way to slide us into such a depressing song, other than giving us a song that conveys no emotion whatsoever. |

This song reminds me of summer. The way the violin (or whatever instrument it is that breaks in in the middle) sounds broken makes me think of a cool and windy summer. Which is very rare for where I live. |

I'm glad that you got something out of the song, but I just didn't. If that makes any sense?
For some reason, I just didn't get anything out of Good News. Not like I did out of This is a Long Drive or Lonesome Crowded West. Modest Mouse has changed a lot. The lyrics, the music, everything. Yeah, they sold out with the Moon and Antarctica, but that was, in my opinion, their best album. I don't know... |

I'm just not feeling the underlying meaning of this song. Unlike every Modest Mouse song before it. I mean, I love Modest Mouse. I would probably kill somebody to meet Isaac Brock. But this song just doesn't say anything to me. |
