i think this is not a love song but in fact a very sad song of very sad people. it's about lonelyness. both the man and the woman feel like they are all alone in the world and that there's nobody who really loves them. All they can do is dream about that someday somebody will love them. |

I think this song is about the nature of women (at least of some women). they are proud. they are not always as sweet as it seems. in fact, they are often "evil inside" (and I have to know it - I am a woman :) First, the poor young boy does everything for her ("tiefe brunnen muss man graben") because he thinks she is pure and beautiful ("Wenn man klares Wasser will") until he realizes, that she is wicked and tricky ("tiefe Wasser sind nicht still"). But by then, it`s too late. |

i think he kills himself in the forest but not because he lost the love of his life but because he IS in love. I think the lines "ohne dich kann ich nicht sein...mit dir bin ich auch allein" (Without you I cannot be...
With you I am alone too) show that the person he loves is still alive. But he commits suicide because he cannot bear the feeling of being so addicted to somebody (like you are if you are in love) |

I think this song shows in a brilliant way that love is nothing but selfishness and egoism. the narrator sings "ICH habe plaene" which shows that this is HIS dream of a perfect relationship and that he doesn't really care about what his partner wants. he seems to be aware of the fact that his partner will probably suffer ("und keiner hoert dich schreien") but he doesn't mind |

I think This song is saying that love is above everything and nobody can control it nor can anybody tame it ("alle wollen nur dich zähmen....am ende gefangen zwischen deinen zähnen"). you can't control your fucking feelings and love makes you blind. I think this song is great and the greatest thing about it is definitely the "bitte bitte gib mir gift" at the end, saying that there's no escape from this wild animal but death |
