ahhh to me its about pain....pain that wont go away. whether this be in form of cancer, broken relationships, watever it is from, the pain makes you messed up inside and it wont go away....kinda like saying youll never forget the pain. also, just because james meant it to be about cancer, everyone who hears the song can take from it what they will, there is no 'right' of 'wrong' of what the song means to different people?
