I think this song is about their brother/bassist Joe. |

I also think that the war they are talking about happened a while ago... since the photo he has is a black and white picture "A black and white print of a face" |

I agree with Junesong but also... I think the person had a near death experience(a car accident). Hit the brakes, hit the glass, Time to shake the hands of fate The mistakes of the past, Flashed before his face He saw his life flash before his eyes and realised all his mistakes and how people chose his life for him. Before this crash he was just in his own world guided by other people. Don’t shake the hands of fate, Don't just accept what other people want for you... this is YOUR LIFE no one should control it but YOU. |

I think this song is about relationship between two people but one is out at war. Time… rolling along with the waves, A thousand miles away Holding you close in the rain, Seems just like yesterday He is looking at the picture of their lover and remembering the good times. Lost… hope in a faraway place And in my hand remains, A black and white print of a face, I’ll never see again He/ doesn't think they are coming back alive but he still holds on to the picture...but he is losing hope I gave my life to save her The ocean turned to red In the fall, in the fall, when the tide took them all Cut down like lambs at slaughter, Good men were left for dead In the fall, in the fall, when the tide took them all He was fighting for his freedom/for his lovers freedom. Maybe he was stationed on a boat and they were attacked and killed. The ocean turned to blood. Love… served until death do us part, I’m drifting in the dark Wounded and wishing to fall, Into your faithful arms He is dying and all he wants is to be with his lover. Beneath the sky of hate, (our world) Beyond the sea of pain, (the war) In heaven I will wait, Until we meet again He is waiting for her in heaven. |
Billy Talent – Where Is The Line? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is about conformity... Urban Hipster, the new gangster… frontin’ by the club New wave mannequins packin’ haircuts, instead of packin’ guns The typical "gangster". The guy who acts street and talks street. But he lives in a nice house/has never experienced what the life is REALLY about. He isn't packing guns he is just concerned with his image. Where is the line? Where is the line? Between your fashion and your mind Where is the line? Where is the line? ‘Cause some of us aren’t blind! He is saying how people dress and then act that way to the extreme. He is also saying that some people see right through the pathetic act and know what you really are. The truth about conformity, is it bites without a sting Trends come and go, but when your alone it doesn’t mean a thing That's pretty straight forward Here today, but forgotten tomorrow! You won't be remembered Be yourself ....errr |
Billy Talent – Fallen Leaves Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is about a drug addiction... "Can’t get no job, can you spare a dime? Just one more hit, and I’ll be fine I swear to God, this’ll be my one last time!" The narrorator left his home or maybe was kicked out. He doesn't have a job and needs the cash to subdue his addiction. He is asking strangers for the money(since he doesn't have the job) The chorus explains that the person won't be able to escape this addiction and its going to kill him. I never once thought, I’d ever be caught! Staring at sidewalks, hiding my track marks! When you are addicted to drugs you can be extremely paranoid. He was basically planning every step before he took it but he was caught. His friends found out and confronted him "Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down" Saying you are burying your own grave.. ... but he snapped back and so his friends abandoned him or he left them. (You can decide) I left my best friends, or did they just leave me? You could compare him to the leaf. The leaf is on the tree filled with life but eventually starts dying and falls away to the ground. Well, for a first post I hope its a good one |
