Everlast – Stone in My Hand Lyrics 13 years ago
speaking about the TRUTH;

People are actually violent in nature, even extremely so, we are pretty much the only species that torture for our own amusement. - Except cats (the household type) but considering that they are been developed by our desire to "domesticate" (control and own living beings as we please) it's not such a big surprise since cats have more self-serving and "selfish" behavior , in opposition to other "domesticated" animals that have pack/herd-oriented behavior.

Of course, we had the thing called self-awareness and centuries to evolve socially and morally, finding ways and technique to redirect and diffuse our basic "negative" emotions and reactions accordingly.

Unfortunately it probably will take much more time until humanity in general will find the "golden road" without treading on the path of ambiguous morality, because for now, everyone just making excuses for fighting.
Even those that are considered as the "weak and harmless", 'cause they not really harmless but just lacking the means to be harmful.

Now, about the "Ain't got nothing but the stone that's in my hand" concept of the song — it doesn't portray a harmless person, even if the singer probably aimed for it, it portrays a person who holds in his hand a means to do harm, and with the intention to do harm.

Here something old and biblical: Cain killed Abel with a stone. he picked a stone and hit his brother to death, since his brother's job and life looked a lot easier compared to Cain's and yet God chose Abel's offering for being better than Cain's.

So if we compare this story (no matter that religion you are or not) — Abel represent a real "harmless person" since he didn't expect to be stroked down for something that wasn't his doing (since he acted by the "rules" and god chose who's offering to receive) and didn't harbor an intent to do harm.
These types of people exist in either side of a war, people that don't understand why they have to suffer for something that isn't their doing, why they have to suffer from fighter jets and bombs thrown on them or why they have to suffer from suicide-bombers blowing in their shopping mall and missiles crashing onto their houses.

A violent conflict like a war isn't about who's weak and who's strong, since both sides are on offensive and both have their weak (that can be harmed) and strong points (that can be used for hurting others), rooting for the smaller guy don't means you rooting for the right guy and so is the case with rooting for the big guy.

and this is the really sad truth — ideals and morals don't work in such cases since if switch weapons between the guy with the stone and the guy with a gun, would you start to precieve the former gun-holder as "harmless"? Would you still see the current guy holding the gun as someone with "only stone in his hand"?
will you see him still as someone "harmless"?
even though he will use the gun with his original intent to hurt someone?

Hilary Duff – Gypsy Woman Lyrics 17 years ago
well, have new album has a really nice sound, it is pop (really not the things I usually hear) but it fun to hear and the lyrics aren't seem to be machine-made like most typical mainstream music lately.

but heck, I always liked her because she wasn't like all those blonde hollywood bubblegum princess (and because she's isn't skinny but still hot)

it's like a part of a circle sitting in the park with guitar, singing that they can think about.

really wonderful song, really make me atheistic to do something, to move, and the music itself...I don't understand anything about instruments and melodies but this one has such a driven beat I cannot resist it.

Black Milk – If the Gods (may know your name) Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, because I'm the one to put this band and sing and lyrics for the song up on this web, I guess I would the first to comment, maybe only, who know?

first thing, I have no idea that can be their original intents with the song meaning because for me it always been more like a story telling - the pretty Goth boy sings and I see pictures inside my head of fallen goddess, thieves, temples and the dark forces consuming it all...

Active imagination supposedly.

But actually I think it's talking about guilt, about thing you could've done, about thing you missed, about the uselessness to fix it while thinking over and over again ‘if you done that – if you been there” and about the goddess fallen from grace? It’s can interpret in more when one ways on the personal field.

hmm...well, I kinda always got the feeling it's a song about male prostitution, or someone gay who let people use him as they please because trauma or something...don't know why, just this are the images I get in my head while listing to the song.

Kate Bush – Top of the City Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm really, but really disappointed that no one said one thin about this song, my own favorite Kate Bush song.

to me this song is really inspiriting and bittersweet, talking about loneliness and love yet also about many more tiny things about people's personal lives - the fake social life, the desire to run away from anything, to agonize yourself with relationship that isn't satisfying.

I think the City itself is a metaphor for a person, most likely to herself or the person she sings to/about, also there is the feeling…strange feeling, when she’s watching him and the city from above it’s make the singer enigmatic being/character, like she’s the angel or she’s already on the top of city…also I wonder about the possibility of death.

She sounds like a ghost of beloved one who watches over the lover she left behind.

Tori Amos – Precious Things Lyrics 18 years ago
it's very hard to me to listen to a song and not to view some kind of images, like clip in my head and this one..is one of my favorite even though not the one to make me Tori Amos fan.

to me it's talking a phase of life, of growth, of mistakes, of everything first or everything too damn unaware, it's explores around all the edges and can be just memory of grown woman, memories that effect her to this day.

about the ugly and pretty and poplaur which are important factor at the song yet the song can be even of a very beautiful/talented/popluar girl, although mostly because she lost that thing that made her all that things or she got sick of it or she realise that she never was actually one.

I don't know, I have favorite character from computer game fits within the little clip I see inside my mind each time I hear this song.
Tifa Lockhart anyone? ^^;

t.A.T.u. – Loves Me Not Lyrics 18 years ago
I see this like this:

a girl who was sure she's a lesbian or at least content with her relationship with her best friend and lover suddenly falls inlove with a man or tries to be with a man and realise it's evolving into more then she expected - "I don’t know why, I had to try
Living my life on the other side"-

I think it's dealing with the idea of bisexuality, the fact a person can be attract to both gendres and have similar types of love to them both.

else it seems like her relationship with both her wonam and her man are driving her from side to side, kinda has the feeling she isn't sure if either of them actually loves her with the repeating lines - "He loves me, He loves me not
She loves me, She loves me not"
