Double – The Captain of Her Heart Lyrics 18 years ago
A friend of mine was convinced that the lyrics were "She couldn't wait another day for me, the captain of her heart", like Kurt Maloo snuck a little "me" into the middle of the line. After that I used to play this tape when my friend was in the car and I'd sing the "me" at the appropriate spot and he'd get so excited, wanting so badly to believe he was right.

A year later, as I was entering Basic Training and being suited up with my uniforms, this song happened to come over the PA system and I had a little flashback of that time.

Double – Circles Lyrics 18 years ago
It's interesting to note that, in old English poetry, "to die" with someone meant to have sex with them. Many poems expressed a man's desire to die with his lady, and it's a lot less morbid than modern readers would interpret.

That this guy wants to die a thousand times with his woman is certainly an assertion of confidence and optimism.

Magazine – A Song From Under The Floorboards Lyrics 18 years ago
"I am an insect" does not refer to Kafka - anyone who's read 'The Metamorphosis' will recall that the main character was displeased to be an insect.

The lyrics are a summary of many of the points of 'Notes From the Underground', in which the main character debates the concept of free will, regrets his lack of direction in life, and glorifies himself as a product of society, in turn condemning that society.
