| The song is powerful to me because of the nature of my relationship. Living a few hours from my girlfriend work only allows us to see each other every 2 weeks for the weekend. On the last day you just don't want it to end. You just hold on to each other and wish that this didn't have to happen. And you don't want to sleep at all. And then you wonder if this is worth it? Is it worth it to keep up the relationship? The whole song fits into the idea of having to leave your significant other for whatever reason have.. and it's sad for that reason... | |

Wow.. no other comments? This is a brilliant song. It's so amazing and powerful. Trying to pick a line in this song that is great is too hard.. they are all great!! Meaning is pretty self explanatory. It's love.. pure and simple.. the need for love. anyways yeah.. this needs more comments! Seriously one of the best songs I've ever heard! |

My favorite part of the song: And you said I know that this will hurt. But if I don't break your heart, then things will just get worse. If the burden seems too much bear. Remember, the end will justify the pain it took to get us there. You can tell from that part it's about a relationship ending. My ex said those exact words (If I don't break your heart right now, things will just get worse between us. I wish you all the best you know that, and I hope that one day you'll look back and see the good not the bad. In the end you will find that person for you). This song makes me think of a relationship where one person believes it's perfect. He/She belives they are soul mates, whether right or wrong, while the other person is thinking they are not. So the person feels that they need to "break your heart" now or things are just going to be harder and harder. Another big part that gets me is the beginning: And today I will trust you with the confidence of a man who's never known defeat. But tomorrow upon hearing what I did I will stare at you in disbelief oh inconsistent me. Crying out for consistency. Makes me think that there was something wrong in the relationship that needed fixed. And he promised he'd fix it, and trusted in her saying "I can do this, and I will do this for you" but then when he feels like the problem is gone, it comes back and he feels inconsistent. Example could be someone who has a bad habit needing broken. They are trying to fix it, but not fast enough for the other person. And just when they think they've broken it, they do it and can't belive they did.. long rant but yeah.. how I feel about the song. |

Cool they finally uploaded this! Thanks songmeanings! Would like to note that I'm surprised none of the songs from Commitment are on here. I love this song a lot! The meaning, to me, is quite simple: It's about missing someone you love when they are gone. "Silence can't be any louder when your gone. How can it be much louder when your gone?" I also love the line "What do we do? What do we say? How was your morning and did you have a nice day?". I feel that way a lot when I'm not around the girlfriend. We can never find things to say so it's always small talk and that is never enough. |

I think this song is a mix of what you both said... I think it's about a man who's "love" broke up with him. It gave him a ton of anger and resent towards her, and it's slowly taking control of him. Though, when he is around her, it's completely hidden. so "He wants to thank her for the tears he cried, the love she gave, and now he wants to show her what he's kept inside (resent) even if it takes complete control of him" |

| to me... it seems like a breakup song.. he's saying "you came into my life, made me happy (do you pull me up), only to leave me alone and upset (just to push me down)." It's not a typical breakup song, as in this, it's more then that.. it's a relationship that seems to have been very pwoerful... they probably were living together.. and that would explain the "now that i'm lost, and left with nothing," which could also be about his love... he's left with no love.. somethin like that... idk... but it's a very kickass song... | |

| To me, this song is about denial... it's about either a loss, or breakup, and your "denying" that you still love that person in an attempt to feel better... it's how I feel at times... When he says, "i'll be just fine.. pretending i'm not.." I interpret it as it says (as long as he pretends he's not fine.. he is..." and when he says "i'm far from lonely and it's all that i've got", i interpret it as him saying that even though he is far from lonely, it's all he feels... I can relate to the song b/c of relationship i was in..
