This song is absolutely brilliant. When I first saw the name of the song I was like WTF kind of name is that for a song and when I finally listened to it I got the correlation of the title and the content of the song. When you think of marvin gaye you think of his latter work as opposed to his early work. The mavin I relate to is the sexual marvin, and in this song drake is calling an ex for a late night hook up. Now granted the song is deeper than that but that's the assessment that i've made from the title of the track. Everyone has made that drunk phone call to an ex in the we hours in the morning but he takes a bit further by wanting to discuss everything that has been weighing on him. I love how he is able to make a drunken call become more than just that, he's a true lyricist. |

I think the lyrics are correct as they stand. The song is about starting the relationship over and getting back to being happy. She's still in love but they're constantly fighting all of the time and she's tired of it. In the second verse she gives her ultimatum by stating that she's not gonna settle and that all of the silly fights need to end so they can get back on track, if not she's leaving. In the chorus she states "we can't let our good love die, maybe we can start all over and give love another life." Those lyrics sum up the entire song. |

I think this song is about a guy who's in love with his girlfriend but she's moving to the relationship to fast for him. "I need you to trust me Go easy, don't rush me Help me out." He's trying to let her know that you don't have to have a ring on your finger to be mine, bc you already are. He's letting her know that I'm not gonna leave you, so stop rushing things and let the relationship take it's natural course. Awesome song!!! |

I can't believe more people haven't commented on this song. This is by far one of my all-time favorite songs. When I first heard this, it gave goose bumps and a sinking feeling in my stomach. I was blown away. On their debut album I wasn't that big a fan of Kennedy's voice, but on this song and this album, he kills it. This song is about Kennedy's friend who had a long battle with a fatal illness. You can just feel his heartache with every word and note. My words could never do this song justice. |

I get so sick of people always inferring that every song Dave writes is about Kurt. I'm sure he misses him, as we all do, but I'm pretty sure he's picked himself up. I think this song is just about someone who has a drug problem and it has destroyed their relationship. The line "Do you ever think of me," gives an indication that the person is still alive, hence it can't be Kurt. |

To me, this song isn't about being happy someone is gone, I think it is the exact opposite. During the chorus he says that he's happy the person is gone, but the verses say something else to me. In the first verse he talks about how he can't believe she's gone, he's in apparent shock. In the second verse he speaks of getting drunk and fighting. To me, that sounds like someone whose devastated. I think he's trying to convenice himself that he's happy when in all actuallity he's devastated! |

Though the video is just about a couple on the verge of breaking up, but reunites, I think the song goes deeper than that. It's about experiencing pain, whether it be through death, or pure heart ache, and making the conscience decision to not allow that pain to take over your life. To allow others to see your vulnerbilities, and insecurities. To open yourself up to love and all of its possibilities, but in order for that to happen you have to drop your guards. |

For me this is about a guy who's in love with someone who is in love with someone else. The lines: "i'd say it on the phone if i thought you were alone." "and you dont need my secret midnight call" These lines define the song for me. It seems to me that, for lack of a better phrase, she only sees him as a booty call, and he definately wants more from her. |
