Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is simply how Page thinks someone can just buy their way into heaven.

King Crimson – Happy With What You Have to Be Happy With Lyrics 18 years ago
First off, this is not pop metal. This is Fusion. (Jazz and Rock mix) The progression gives this away.

Crimson's message is more likely an attack on critics, and telling others to be happy with what they have if they want to be happy. I think he almost overly expresses this. ;)

Modest Mouse – Cowboy Dan Lyrics 18 years ago
Listening to Brock's music a lot has given me the (obvious) impression that he is hard-core atheist (although he spells it out very cautiously in his music) but he does in fact communicate with the Hebrew-Christian God, and God talks back to him.

It is spelled out quite clearly here:
"You know we need oxygen to breath
Every time you think you're walking you're just moving the ground
Every time you think you're talking you're just moving your mouth
Every time you're looking you're just looking down"

If this theory is correct, God is saying four things to Brock:
1) You need to breathe, I can take it away.

2) Your not going anywhere, because I wont let you get anywhere.

3) Your words are meaningless because you don't have a full concept of what you’re talking about.

4) If you keep this mindset I'm sending you to hell.

Brock replies by having Cowboy Dan rebel and basic tell God "you can't control me!"

He hops in his pickup puts the pedal to the floor
And says 'I got mine but I want more'"

However Dan is proven wrong because of his habits and desires, and struggles with not being able to actually follow his own will.

"He goes the reservation drinks and gets mean
I didn't move to the city, the city moved to me
And I want out desperately"

"Can't get that engine turned over"

Modest Mouse – Mice Eat Cheese Lyrics 18 years ago
I believe that Mice Eat Cheese can be split into two parts and connected to each other by their stereotypes and metaphors.

In the first three lines, Brock is obviously in the first person. And uses a "Men drink beer", stereotype then uses it to justify finding company. Most likely friends or his band mates.

In the second three lines Brock stereotypes mice and the whole eating cheese thing. [=)]

Using the need for company, he and his "mice" go and drink their "cheese" and do what they want.

I idea of a cat coming home could be associated with a girlfriend of Brocks by calling her cat in the song but relating her real life name to "Kat."
With "Kat home, Brock and his mice don't feel relaxed as they did with out "Kat" home.
