umm, i'm not sure if anyone has said this on the comments, and i'm not about to go through 6 pages to find out, but vigniti tres is part three of a series on this cd. if you take wings for marie, pt. 1 and vigniti tres, they equal the length of 10,000 days (pt.2). play pt. 1 and vigniti tres back to back at the exact same time you play pt.2. |

iwkw06 that is just so annoying on so many levels. and by the way, if you're going TA comment on how "dumb" a song is, at least know what the hell makes it dumb. you don't even know what the song is about. |
Regina Spektor – Chemo Limo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't think this is about a woman who is just finding out about her cancer. I think this woman is very close to dying. I picture a woman laying in the hospital bed just before she passes and is having these "dreams," only they aren't really dreams so much as just her slipping in and out of consciousness. The part where the doctor is driving the limousine makes me think that she is kind of looking around the room and just seeing the people in the room in her dreams. Looking at her kids one last time as they sit in the room and play... still a very very sad song and I love every drop of it. |
Blue October – X Amount Of Words Lyrics | 18 years ago |
okay, this and almost every other song on their new cd is about justin's bipolar disorder. this song is him trying to explain what it feels like to live with this disease. he's kind of giving us a "behind the scenes" as to what it's like dealing with this every day, and how he's trying to control it. Give me recipies for happy With the chemicals gone Drinking freedom from a bottle To the tune of belong. Right here he's talking about his past drug/alcohol addiction, which he has said was his way of trying to deal with his disease. |

nope, it's pretty much all about Justin... |
Regina Spektor – Après Moi Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This was written from the perspective of a statue. I think it's about King Louis XV. He was the one who famously said "Apres moi le deluge" which means "after me come the floods." He was hated by the French people and his reign seeded the resentment towards the monarchy that eventually led to the French Revolution. "You can't break that which isn't yours." I think she's singing about tradition here. "Be afraid of the lame, they'll inherit your legs Be afraid of the old, they'll inherit your souls Be afraid of the cold, they'll inherit your blood Apres moi le deluge, after me come the floods" Sounds like a warning against the revolt. P.S. Read Boris Pasternak's poem entitled 'February. Take your pen and weep,'. |
Regina Spektor – Samson Lyrics | 18 years ago |
just my take on this, but i think really it's a fictional story based on samson from the bible. in the bible, delilah isn't the one that cuts his hair. she sends a servant to do it. I'm thinking this song is written from the eyes of that servant, that they were secretly in love. the bible doesn't mention anything about the servant other than that she cut his hair. |

Blue October – Drilled a Wire Through My Cheek Lyrics | 18 years ago |
in an interview Justin said it's basically talking about his Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality and he (metaphorically) drills a wire through his cheek to keep it in check. |

campbc your comment has made the most sense. once you read the lyrics and then apply it to that situation it fits perfectly. |
Rihanna – SOS Lyrics | 18 years ago |
its so sad that there are really great, talented, ORIGINAL artists out there that can actually sing and write their own music, and this crap is what gets played on the radio. the only reason she even has a hit is because of the simple fact that sex sells, and record companies love money. and the only reason that any of you out there think that she's this "awesome" singer with amazing talent is because all you listen to is that top 40 force-fed shit and you don't know any better. mtv and radio corporations have ruined music as we know it. whew, okay done with the soap box, anybody else need to borrow it? |
Regina Spektor – Carbon Monoxide Lyrics | 18 years ago |
