This is one of my fave Cake songs, if not my favourite.
It's kind of sad in a way, but so beautiful at the same time. The bit of synthesizer in the background is great...it fits somehow into the whole song. It's sort of a bittersweet little melody.

It's about a girl who has boyfriend who doesn't treat her very well, but she still stays with him anyway because she feels like she has to have a boyfriend. She self-harms because she's a frustrated teenager.
Even though this was written by a guy, I think it is supposed to be from a woman's point of view. She just wants the girl to take her advice because she was in the same situation when she was that age and knows how it is.
This doesn't have to do with lesbian sex, you pervs. xD Some people find sexual undertones in everything. |
