Sufjan Stevens – The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I thought of this song about two men. "I come out wearing my brother's red hat" I imagined the narrator, his family, and his "best friend" on a trip, swimming, and he comes out to his parents (or what-not) 'wearing his brother's red hat,' perhaps referring to either his brother also being gay, or his brother being, shall we say, "homophobic." Maybe it's my experiences that make me relate this song to certain memories of my own. That's why I love music. |

Chisel – Citizen Of Venus Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think that he's saying that he's not ashamed of what he's done in the past, and asking why anyone else would care. Sure, he's done things he isn't liked for, but he's gone through bad times when his friends weren't backing him up -- is he explaining himself to his friends? He's changed, he's changed, there's nothing wrong with him. |
