I always kind of invisioned Melancholy Man as God and that the song was about the end of the world. God ended the world because he was so disatisfied with it. That's how I saw it, but my interpretation was influenced by a graphic novel I was reading while listening to this: Persepolis. |

I love this song. It's very beautiful. I don't have any definite meaning but I bet it means someone who's free to roam around fields and forests. However, my personal interpretation was one of a person who yearns to meet someone who will truly understand them. This person promises the person that they'll be good to them and that they're free to explore them hence fields and forests. However, I can't quite figure out lines 4-6. |
