The Postal Service – Nothing Better Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you got the wrong jen. The girl voice is Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley. |
The Postal Service – Recycled Air Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I've taken this song pretty literally. If you've ever left someone who means a lot to you on an airplane, this song makes perfect sense. PS: Airplanes/the physical space between people is kind of a theme in Death Cab and the Postal Service (Transatlanticism, The Thing About Airplanes, Recycled Air) |
The Strokes – Red Light Lyrics | 17 years ago |
red light= something like red light district in paris? ie: Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, where all the artists and prostitutes used to (and maybe still do...) hang out. maybe. |
The Strokes – What Ever Happened? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
One of the only strokes songs that is blatantly about one girl/ a relationship/ being let down in love. Most are about sex/ hurting someone else/ whatever. |
The Strokes – The End Has No End Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is quite ambiguous, but that's what makes it so good. It's a bit of a paradox that one song could be about politics or a realationship, but this one is. Go figure. Anyways, art isn't really art unless its open for interpretation. |
Bright Eyes – Sunrise, Sunset Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"A scribble or a sonnet/ they are really just the same" A friend of mine did a collection of pieces for an art concentration where he just scibbled on the paper and then found shapes in the piece that he made subconciously, depending on how he felt when he drew it. You could see angels, skulls, people crying, etc. So maybe Connor is saying that you can put just as much of yourself into a quick scribble as an entire sonnet. Hence, they are really just the same. |
We Are Scientists – Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think Jessay has got it. The guy in this song is incredibly cocky and is looking for a girl who wants to "use his body". |
The Killers – Read My Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The short random lines The good old days the honest man the restless heart the promised land a subtle kiss that no one sees a broken wrist and a picture piece and "the teenage queen..." remind me of a sort of word association test. It's sort of like he's giving you (or whoever...) the image fragments and can you put them together to make a story or at least make sense of them. "Can you read my mind?" |
The Killers – For Reasons Unknown Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Spectacular song!!! the lyrics are great, the music is AMAZING! To me this song isn't really about a break up so much as simply falling out of love with someone. You wake up one day and realize that, somehow, things just aren't the same between you and another person and you can never go back. |
The Raconteurs – Broken Boy Soldier Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is about growing up and fighting your way through life. |
The White Stripes – Black Math Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with the bit about learning and school in general. Jack White told me (met him after a show...) that he thinks the only reason we go to school is so we learn to do things that we don't want to do. |
Franz Ferdinand – Fade Together Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love the music in this song. The vocals and the piano are so evenescent... The sounds and rhythms are more important than the lyrics. This song is almost hypmatic. |
The Pink Spiders – Modern Swinger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The Pink Spiders are going to be HUGE!!! Especially after Warped Tour. |
Dido – Sand In My Shoes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I definately can relate to this song. I went to visit a friend in Brussels and completely fell in love with everything about the city, the lifestyle, her friend... |
