Neko Case – Man Lyrics 10 years ago
I'd kind of like it spelled out for me. If you don't mind.

I think it's "admit that I'm afraid," even thought "frayed" fits with the subject matter.

The Rosebuds – Waiting For You Lyrics 11 years ago
Pretty cryptic song. I like the sound of it, how it repeats. I think it's a guy who is not satisfied in his relationship, he's confused, it keeps him up at night, etc, and he's waiting for the girl to clarify things.

Andrew Belle – Static Waves Lyrics 12 years ago
I love this song. I get such a visual picture of the scene when I listen to it. Here's how I see it. The guy wants to break up with the girl. He agonizes over it, pacing outside her apartment, tapping his foot nervously. He's nervous because he's sure she won't understand why. She can sense something is up, and he spills his drink to break the tension. I think "static" refers to their stagnant relationship, but I see it visually, like the TV is on and it's all static. And "waves" are part of the back and forth of him arguing with himself whether ending it is right. She wasn't going to make it easy for him though. She kisses him to get him to stay and then he touches her lips and holds her hands cuz she's shaking. I think the next verse is about how they're both slaves to this relationship and I feel like it has something to do with the apartment, like they spend too much time there or something. Next, he's willing himself to leave, but he can't. "I would have let you leave" is such a powerful line to me. I think this is from the girl's perspective and if something had been different, she might have let him leave, and this is her regret for even allowing the possibility.

Could someone tell me how I know this song? It was just used at the end of Grey's Anatomy, but I knew it before that. I have no idea where I heard it...

Amazing song.

How do we make corrections? I see some punctuation missing and I'm pretty sure they say "I'm sorry" twice the second time.

I agree that this song is about being yourself, no matter who you are, letting go, having fun. Also, they're thanking the fans for coming out to the shows. The only part I don't understand is "311 on wax, wax on felt". Is wax vinyl LPs? Is felt pool table felt?

Train – Whipping Boy Lyrics 14 years ago
I love this song so much. The repetition of "lay all you want on me" is powerful. They are in a relationship, possibly on the verge of break-up, and he's telling her that he will take on every painful emotion she's feeling, he will do anything for her. I'm not describing it right. The song says it all.

Yeah, this is a good one. What's with all the (??)s? I believe it is "Unity with the mind". There is a part missing, it's spoken so low, I can only make out: (??) Jesus, (??)
Remind me not to pray to you

And the line "Cerebrial denial brings scheming to return" isn't missing any words.

The Verve Pipe – The Freshmen Lyrics 14 years ago
Just reading the lyrics to this song makes me sad. This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written. When I was young and it was on radio, I had a very specific interpretation. I'm not really sure where it came from. It's obviously all wrong, but here goes. The guy and his girlfriend were driving in a car, at the end of a date or something. She touches her face and he looks at her, takes his eyes off the road and they crash and she dies. And I had this whole scenario in my head about the kid explaining to her parents what happened and the funeral and all that. Like I said, I have no idea where it came from, but that's what I picture even though it's wrong.

Most of the time, I prefer to have my own interpretation of a song, but in this instance, I would really like to know what the original writer(s) had in mind. It's just so powerful and seems like it's based on a personal experience. I would like to know the true story behind it.

I associate this song with my birthday - 8 16 = Aug. 16. Also, the beginning sounds so much like the pinball level of Sonic, I always get that tune stuck in my head when I hear this song.

This song makes me think of the Matrix. Obviously, it's not about that. I agree with everyone else's interpretations.

Jack's Mannequin – The Resolution Lyrics 15 years ago
Okay, I have a story to tell. I first heard this song a long time ago, loved it, then basically forgot all about it until I caught the end of the video on TV. Then I kind of forgot about it again until I was reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer and this song jumped into my head. I couldn't get it out of my head and I started to realize how well it applies to the book. The more I read, the more it made sense, so it became like my own little theme song while I read it. Then one day I did a search for the lyrics and Stephenie Meyer's name caught my eye somewhere on the screen. I was like, whoa, maybe somebody else out there had the same thought, so I did another search and discovered the Stephenie Meyer directed the music video. This to me was the hugest coincidence, I still can't get over it. What are the chances that she was involved with this song and this is the song my mind decided to attach to this book, knowing nothing about the connection? It also makes me wonder how much more they have to do with each other, if the book inspired the song or vice versa. So to anyone who's read this book, think about it... it just works.

Blue Foundation – Eyes on Fire Lyrics 15 years ago
If I didn't know any better, I'd say the song was written about a lot of the stuff that goes on in Breaking Dawn. I don't want to give anything away to anyone who hasn't read it, but to those who have... think about it. I guess it's not possible that the band wrote it after reading Breaking Dawn, do the dates match up? Because it's spooky how close it describes certain things.
