"I'll start off by saying that I appreciate the message that Pink tries to give in this song: aspire to be something more. With that said, I am not impressed with this song for several reasons: 1) The chorus is annoying. 2) If Pink wanted to send out a positive message, it probably would have been more effective to do it in a way so that she doesn't have to trash other celebrities whom she has never met or known personally. Otherwise, she just comes off as a hater. Or another Avril Lavigne. 3) This songs lacks originality. To me, it's the same old tired, cliched "don't-conform-to-society" tune. well yeah it is DEFINANTLY about her parents divorce cuz #1 have u seen the video? its all about different couples ( with kids ) breaking up. and #2 she says in the song " I watched you die I heard you cry Every night in your sleep I was so young You should have known better than to lean on me You never thought of anyone else You just saw your pain And now I cry In the middle of the night For the SAME DAMN THING!! " and i thought when she said 2 things #1 i was so young you should have known nnot to lean on me " she means that her mom was well trying to talk to kelly about her dad in like a bad way and also that she was leaning on kelly for support throught rought times. also when she says :"You never thought of anyone else you only thought of your own pain" she means You just saw your pain that her mom never thought of kelly cuz her parents were split up or anything but just how hurt she was that she wasnt with kellys dad any more. i can relate cuz my parents have split up many times and when my mom is really sad some days she gets really selfish and wont do anyhting for anyone else ( i get like that too some times :P ) so that was my take on the song PS sorry is there was any typos!! :P |
