Placebo – Protect Me From What I Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
for me it's much more about sexuaity than about drugs. maybe it's about wanting some kind of relasionship that ain't possible. but i can't find a clue. brian never tried to hide the fact that he's bisexual, so i don't think the song is about beeing a gay, it wouldn't make no sense, he doesn't have a problem with that, i guess. writing about drugs makes no sense to me too. i think it's more like in the "i know" song, more about cheating, or beginig a new relationship that shouldn't happen. but i'm not sure. |

the DRUMS!!!! i just adore them. like in "the angel with the scabbed wings"... i love mansons drums, they're so characteristic. they sound a bit like "war-drums". i'm sorry, it's not about the song meaning, but i just had to write it. manson, you're the best! |
Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"you said you wanted evolution the ape was a great big hit you say you want a revolution, man and I say that you're full of shit" you said you wanted the evolution and you got it. it was a great big hit, too. you liked the ape. but this is past. now you want revolution (you don't like the ape anymore and you wanna change its nature), but i tell you that you're full of shit. i'm not sure about this line... maybe he just wanted to say what he thought about the blamers without using any metaphors as he was tired and angry of beeing accused for columbine? i still think that the fact that the ape acts in two places in the song may have a meaning. and one more thing... the ape used to be a symbol of stupidity once... i guess it fits well to the video. |

STOP ARGUEING ABOUT MM ALBUMS! This is not the right place! Everybody has his own opinion about the song and i don't wanna know it, really. You can love or hate MM as long as you write what is this song about. English ain't my native language, so I find it hard to understand all, because i don't know all the meanings of one word. so i would be grateful for help. "All my lilies' mouths are open Like they're begging for dope And hoping Their bitter petal chant" lilies and petal would fit to the "garden-interpretation". but i guess it can't be just about a garden, maybe it's about paradise and having it lost? some of the songs on the album are about II war, so maybe this song has such connections too? someone said it was about society - why then? |
Placebo – I Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
for me it was always obvious that the song is about lust. "you love the song, but not the singer" means that you only desire the person, but without any further commitment. and "the past will catch you up as you run faster" means that you can't do things without thinking, because they can have fatal influence on your further life (for example you already have a boyfriend who you love and who would brake up with you if you cheated on him). so, there are two people who want to have sex and the desire is enormous, but they shouldn't do it. i always thought so... |
Juanes – La Camisa Negra Lyrics | 18 years ago |
there goes the translation... (from a web site, not mine). Black Shirt I have a black shirt for today my love is in mourning. Today there is a pain in my soul because of your spell. Today I already know that you don't love me which is the the thing that hurts the most. I have a black shirt and a pain that dwells within me. It's a shame that I am alone purely because you lied and also because of my damned bad luck on the day that I first met you. From drinking the malevolent poison of your love I remain near death and full of sorrow, still breathing the bitter smoke of your goodbye, and since you left, all I have is... I have a black shirt to match the darkness in my soul I have completely lost my cool over you, Lost it right up to my bed. Come-a, come-a, come on, baby I say to you that the black shirt disguises the fact that underneath I'm a corpse. I have a black shirt and already your love doesn't interest me Yesterday what I thought was pure happiness Today I realize is pure shit Wednesday afternoon you never showed up and never gave me the least hint so here I am with the black shirt and your suitcases in the door. i like the videoclip, the two girls are hot:) |
The Knife – Is It Medicine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
For me this song is about beeing afraid of going out. You have to live the day trying to be "normal", trying to forget about your fears and obsessions. You don't know if you feel good because you took your pills, or you feel good because you have good social skills(you're sane and cured now). Then you come home and you're so tired of living between people that you cry. It's about beeing depressive and having social fears... I still don't know what "trive" means and I'm not sure if my interpretation ain't too personal... any other suggestions? |
