| The video for this song is absolutely excellent. I'm pretty sure it's about a toy car as opposed to a drivable one. The video shows them being rockstars, but ends with them just fantasizing about being rockstars. In the same way I think this song is about fantasizing about owning a racecar. | |

This song annoys me so much, and I'm positive it's because of the song meaning and nothing else. It's about a guy who's free-loading and sleeping on a friends couch instead of getting a job and his own place to live. It's funny because Jimbo has said in one of his other songs that "[he] can't surf," but obviously he knows how to couch surf. yeah, Fiona, you've got it. Except I really think that instead of letting them break-up, instead of confronting her about it, he just leaves. It reminds me of a friend of mine actually. Something that happened to him in middle school (and at 23 he still remembers)... He was dating a girl, but she cheated on him with a friend and when he confronted her on it she apologized and said she "didn't realize they were that serious" and that it "wouldn't happen again" but it did, with a different friend. So this time instead of going to her he went to his friend and told him to back off. Well, this got back to the girl, who, ever so rationally, called my friend out in the middle of a crowded hall yelling, "What did I ever do to you?" Then, instead of yelling back "Are you f***ing serious?" he just stared her in the eye for a moment then turned his back and never spoke to her again. They had a class together and all year she tried to get his attention; I dunno, apologize or something, but he never spoke to her again or even gave her eye contact no matter what their proximity. So yeah, necessary heart break. Because having your heart broken is better than having it ripped out completely... which is what would've happened in the case of the song (I personally believe). How can so few people be commenting on this song? It's so completely beautiful? |

Did Miho Hatori really say that? Because when I had a friend listen to this song he insisted it was a cover. Since he knew the lyrics before hearing the song, I've always believed him. "Hold on to something, That will hold on to you" is the correct lyric, ya'll. I'm making all of this story up but... This song is about the fun times he had at summer camp. The camp was sort of divided naturally by the tree-line and the two sides were referred to as the cowboys and the indians. The only person he would go on to keep in contact with was hot little squa (sp?) by the name of Ellen. They would eventually date in a long-distance thing in high school before they got togehter in college where the Butthole Surfers eventually became famous for perfoming nude. |

This is seriously one of the greatest songs of all time. And, excuse my dorkiness, but I always picture Link, from The Legend of Zelda, fighting stuff when I hear this song. However, it's specifically the Link from the animated series... always trying to get a kiss from princess Zelda. He's got such an endearing love for her than never falters even though she never really gives him reason to believe that she'll ever accept him as a lover... though she desperately needs him as a saviour. That's what this song is to me. I'm pretty sure that's not what it was written about, but that's what it means to me. |

While I don't know what he's saying, this song is SUCH a Pixies tribute. If you can't listen to the song and hear it just in the music, then pay close attention to the lyrics as the song fades out. He clearly says "Here Comes Your Man." ...which is the song that Back Seat Dog is modeled after. I'm in no way trying to diss The Pillows. They're brilliant, but the added fact that they didn't just cover a song, but instead, expanded on it is incredilbe. (It might be a different story if they didn't pay tribute at the end with the "here comes your man" lines) I can't stand J-Pop, but I'm completely infatuated with The Pillows. |

Yeah, it's about sex, but it's about how beautiful making love (yes, sex) can be. Her whole physical being is beautiful and marvelous to him. Comparing her to a figure skater shows that she is skilled, but mainly, to me, it shows how elegant she is (in bed, but probably otherwise too). Love this song. |

This is one of my favorite songs to sing along to. Man, all of these songs are open to interpretation, but when I think of this song, I think of the movie "Heathers." Just something about drinking the drain-o and especially the line "to will something worse for another is custom for you" reminds me of Heather, Heather (the one that drank the drain-o). |
