Reel Big Fish – Last Show Lyrics

Welcome to the most depressing song I've heard. I'm glad they dropped back to a more indie label and I hope this gets Aaron out of his music funk, but oh god.
I don't care about any other emotional songs. This song sounds like Aaron's on the verge of just quitting the band and disbanding Reel Big Fish. I don't know how I'd live if that happened. I'm a ridiculous fanboy and I don't deny. |

I challenge anybody to find a funner song to drink and fight and sing along to at 3am. I issue this challenge right now. |

Reel Big Fish – Your Guts (I Hate 'em) Lyrics

Yeah, the big noisecore piece at the end was pretty cool. What do the vocals at the end of it say? It sounds like there's about a minute's worth of speech flipped in reverse. |

Streetlight Manifesto – Walking Away Lyrics

From a trumpet player's perspective, the trumpet part in this is WAY more fun to actually play. From a listener's persepctive, I dunno. I don't like how staccato the notes are played, but I like the modified melodies better. Is a toughie, t'be sure. |

Beirut – Postcards from Italy Lyrics

It's such a pretty song. I get a real Jens Leckman vibe from it actually.
The third verse just makes me wibble. I do not care whether people will accept wibble as a word, it's what it does. He's singing about wanting to marry a girl and his voice is so beautiful. Zach Cordon |

Streetlight Manifesto – On & On & On Lyrics

The little Pachelbel's Canon homage just really combines with the lyrics to really make me feel good when I listen to this song.
Even though it's really about coping with horrible shit going down, musically it's uplifting. |

Kisschasy – Water On A Stove Lyrics

This is easily my favourite track off United Paper People. It's a shame Kisschasy don't really have much depth to their lyrics, because they're catchy as all getup. |

Suburban Legends – Bright Spring Morning Lyrics

God I would pay heaps of money to see this song live. You just know the most unbelievably cool crowd-wide pogoing would start at "Go, roll down that window"
Stupid living in Australia and them not coming here and me having a broken ankle rassum frassum |

Jim's Big Ego – The Ballad of Barry Allen Lyrics

These lyrics actually have a few minor errors in like that.
You know what I think this song is about? I think this song is all about the dudes in Jim's Big Ego trying to write the song that would depress me the most.
Damn you, Jim's Big Ego, damn you! Why you gotta be so good? |

Catch 22 – It Takes Some Time Lyrics

This is the best song. Not just by Catch 22, they aren't my favourite band or anything, but this song is just the greatest song written. Ever. |

Streetlight Manifesto – Walking Away Lyrics

The bass playing in this one is technically far superior... but I do agree with you. Catch's version almost sounded like it was being played slap.
This and Supernothing are the only two tracks that I prefer the Catch 22 versions of. |

Refused – New Noise Lyrics

Agreed wholeheartedly. They were fantastic but my god, nothing compares to that album.
Also, I fucking love the scream at 4:10 in this track, when the whole crowd joins in. It doesn't sound like a crowd. It sounds like the singer is screaming with every single voice in hell and it's AWESOME. |

The Flaming Tsunamis – Opus Lyrics
|
I always have a complaint with the first verse's lines:
"Something spoke to you
and it was then that you knew"
They just have really awkward lyrical flow. Hell, it seems like the singer realises this just as he gets up to them. It's a shame, because the rest of the song is fucking awesome. Especially the skacore breakdown. |

The Flaming Tsunamis – Refuse to Die Lyrics

I love the first verse. It sounds way angrier than the more screamy parts of the song, just the way he's almost vomiting out the words really appeals to me.
It's definitely a great song to play when you're pissed off at someone. |

Horse the Band – A Million Exploding Suns Lyrics
| 18 years ago

I never realised it until I read these lyrics, but this song is so blatantly about The Sentry, a Marvel Comics superhero. I have no clue at all why I never guessed it when the goddamn title is the same as the subline to The Sentry's name.
God I'm a moron. |

Jump, Little Children – Not Today Lyrics

The second time the line "I'm sure someone would hear me if I screamed" is sung puts the biggest smile on my face. Just the way it's almost whispered and the falsetto on "screamed" really twang at my smile muscles. |

Jump, Little Children – Body Parts Lyrics

I feel really guilty for saying it, but if I have someone back in my room at a party, I'm sticking on a playlist that plays this song (and Habit, just for the similarities in Jay's voice) because it gets EVERYBODY in the mood. It's come to be known amongst my friends as the "seduction song." |
