Bright Eyes – Kathy with a K's Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
" Ick, I heard the Jason Mraz version before this one, and no offense, but I think he shows this guy up with his version. It's like Conor can't even hit the notes... And what's wrong with calling it "Love is Real" when he sings those words like fifty times throughout the song? Sheesh. " i shouldn't even honor a comment like that with a response. however, i will say, i'm sure when walt whitman read his poems, select members of the audience complained about his delivery. |
Belle & Sebastian – White Collar Boy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
boring guy gets involved in some minor theft to pay the bills. he's caught but only sentenced to community service. where apparently he is shackled to a beautiful girl who is also serving. maybe not literally, but it's b&s. maybe he just gets attached to her. so when she makes a run for it, he follows. he ends up falling for her even though shes a crook(he doesn't want to split hairs). this is were it gets fuzzy. “I am innocent, you are a rocket. Things were ok till you took out the copper” Leave me alone, and get used to the chains are they talking about her killing a police officer aka cop. and then i guess he freaks out (leave me alone) and leaves her to her life of crime (get used to the chains) |
Belle & Sebastian – Dress Up in You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is sung from the perspective of a girl to another girl, an old friend. the old friend "hit it big" (you're a star now) (you've got money, you've got fame) as a model (i see your picture from the train) like all celebrities, she's trying to translate that sucess into something else. (now you're an actress... you couldn't act your way out of a paper bag) the singer wasn't as sucessful, seems to be crashing personally (you give me stomach pains) (blow up in the face of my rivals i swear and i rant, i mkae quite an arrival.) her boyfriends probably cheating on her (I’ve got a boyfriend, I’ve got a feeling that he’s seeing someone else He always had thing for you as well) |
