Red Hot Chili Peppers – Meet Me At The Corner Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Any one else get the feeling AK may have relapsed around Stadium Arcadium, and this is a good old coming-off-drugs song? It would explain their many dodgy performances, and possibly even helping towards JF leaving (after his experiences in the 90s, I can't imagine he'd've been too receptive to that kinda stuff. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Goodbye Hooray Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I've missed Flea's bass solo's. Not quite Coffee Shop standards, but still damn good (and weirdly similar in sound listening again - similar phaser?) |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Now this is the in-depth, over-analysed response i revisted SM to read (Remember the Dani California/rock history post? Although I believe that more than this)! I like the idea, and really hope you're right, but at the same time, I can't help but think it's about a squirter... |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Ethiopia Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think just a play on the vowels in Ethiopia. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Police Station Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This was my first thought on hearing the song too. Partly because I was trying to listen out for the song about him leaving, admittedly, but it all fits too well to not be about him. |
La Roux – In For the Kill Lyrics | 15 years ago |
For me this song is about my ongoing struggle to negotiate a relationship with the woman I love who moved out to New York (I live in the uk) in October last year. The struggle and the balls out honesty of telling her exactly how i feel. The trying to cross the atlantic ocean with my feelings, and make her happy. |
Avenue Q – Everyone's A Little Bit Racist Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Went to see this last night, and in england the 'polacks' are replaced by the french :D |
Joy Division – She's Lost Control Lyrics | 16 years ago |
lol. You get a point for the use of the word Nonce. |
Pearl Jam – Bee Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
On my version of Lost Dogs (sunno if its the same on them all) this song is nearly 10 minutes, and at 6:03 another 'song' starts, but its would back up the 1st few ideas mentioned about Bee girl etc. the lyrics are summat like: so all you fools who sing just like him fell free to do so now cause he's dead using using using using takes toll isolation just so happy to be one. to be won sad to sad to think sad to think of him all alone lonesome friend we all knew always home you drove through(?) no blame no blame no blame it could be you using you cant grow up using so sing just like him, fuckers it wont offend him just me because he's dead. |
Pearl Jam – Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
shame i can't spellt hough. let's try 'relaxing' |
Pearl Jam – Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I like it. The recording idea is very similar to Agalloch's Tomorrow Will Never Come - also featuring recordings from a mental hospital, however the music is very different. I really enjoy this song, it is so relacinf, and is always the first in my sleep playlist or the playlist i use when out walking at night. |
Moss Icon – Guatemala Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Anyone reminded of Pearl Jam - Corduroy with the guitar riff. It always reminds me of the intro. Its not exactly the same but very very similar. |
Jason Webley – Against The Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Possibly my favourite love song ever. Its simple - He's telling someone his words will look after them, could work for a child, could work for partner. |
Dishwalla – Find Your Way Back Home Lyrics | 16 years ago |
FM. Its her downfall thats inevitable. And as much as i dont want it to happen. Im sure it will. Things are spiraling out of control. As they do in this song. I just hope she finds her way back home. |
Limp Bizkit – Radio Sucks! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I just had to post to you Fed, because i was checking out just how... *thinks of a polite way of saying it* Special you are, and it turns out, that since Blink 182 split up a while back and the members have formed two seperate bands (+44 and Angels And Airways or summat), your levels of...retardation are incredibly high. I'm glad to see you formed 6 fully comprehendable worde this time, but dear GOD next time at least attempt 10, is that too much to ask, really? I mean, we're all human here, surely we can speak and spell like humans. I mean... 'here'. Would it have been any harder to actually spell it right? Or is that stretch from 'E' to 'A' just too much for you... those 2 key lengths... i feel for you, i really do... |
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Call Me Ishmael Lyrics | 16 years ago |
No it is Moby Dick, i met him last month at a protest to save the West End Center in Aldershot, a little gig/drama venue and youth centre. He performed an acoustic set with one of my mates and another local acoustic guy, then after me and a mate chatted to him (When my mate also confirmed with him that it was white whale) and he said it is about chasing the dreams, as Ishmael did his white whale. Also managed to see him at Reading this year (unlike last year... *growls*, and he is sublime live in a real venue (The westie was an outside, acoustic with only the 1 or 200 protesters lol) |
Mumm-ra – These Things Move In Threes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the first song i heard by them, its awesome. Saw them at Reading last year, V this year... they're about 5 times as good live, and the albums awesome lol. I think its about moving on from a relationship, but possibly he's over it, but shes not, even though it was her that ended it. Not sure though |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Halo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ANTWANmyMAN I salute your sarcasm! Could you mail me the cover? |
Biffy Clyro – Only One Word Comes to Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
But what is that one word? Crave? |
Biffy Clyro – Folding Stars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Eleanor i would guess was Simon's mum's name? To those that don't know, she dies when the songs were being written Throughout the album there is the theme of death and such, and i would say its his mum's death that brought it all to mind as he wrote, and a couple of songs seem to be just about her. such as this. its really sweet and powerful. |
Biffy Clyro – As Dust Dances Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If by asleep you mean dead, then yes i agree. but all the same things apply. Although the bone bits confuse me. |
Biffy Clyro – Semi-Mental Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I would guess about his mother, as she died during the making of this album. the whole album has the running theme of death due to her passing away. Touching stuff |
Biffy Clyro – 9/15ths Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Anyone know what's going on with the whole 2/4//9 /15ths thing on this album? i see the rep in semi mental 4/15ths... but what are the numbers for. i get that if you add 2 and 4 15ths as seperate songs it makes 15... but hows that relelvent? anyone shed any light? |
Better Than Ezra – Recognize Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow. great input... I'd say its about being on your deathbed, dreaming about going to hell ('as she let go of my hand') to be punished for all the bad things they'd done ('(You been living out of pocket, out of your socket) Ah, you better recognize. (You been leaning like a Pisa, a moaning Lisa) Ah, you better recognize, son (Hip hip for all the busted, we are entrusted) Ah, you better recognize.') Then its as if the person would change their life, but they realise its too late ('I was horrified to find There were seven horsemen next to me The angel close behind') |
Better Than Ezra – At The Stars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is about breaking free and just going out late at night, driving in the car with your closest friends as people have said. i think that's the genius of this song... at some point almost everyone does this, so almost everyone can realte to it. for me, this is myself, and two of my best friends Gem and Fliss (AKA The Madness Hamsters) driving around, just going where the road takes us until we reach a milestone on the mileometer (eg 4000 miles was the first) |
Alkaline Trio – Sadie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
More on the Beatles bit, reportedly, Manson believed that the whole White album was actually a message for him, and that was the motivation for his building of the family and "hiding" out in the desert-they were going to wait until the blacks had killed all the whites, then come out and reign supreme. |
HIM – Gone With The Sin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song makes my wee-wee dribble. I like dead people. They don't say no :) |
The Sugarhill Gang – Apache Lyrics | 17 years ago |
. |
The Chordettes – Mr. Sandman Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Black Lace – Agadoo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow... I'd never looked at in in that way, but you're quite cl4early right! impressive work. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – 21st Century Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Been a while since i listened to this album (like not much since it first came out) and there is quite a lot behind the apparently fairly upbeat song, and in that way it kinda reminds me of My Lovely Man, where the song seems happy but is really about Hillel's death. |
Tupac Shakur – The Realist Killaz (feat. 50 Cent) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think its about the way a lot of people nowadays idolised rappers, and wish they were gangster rappers such as 2Pac was seen to be, and 50 Cent is saying don't do that, don't strive to be like these people, 2Pac or such, because it's just going to end in you getting hurt. But thing is... I've always seen 50 Cent as being kinda like that, so i'm not entirely sure... ANyone think theres more meaning to the Hail Mary 'What do We Have Here Now?' sample bits, or is it purely another way of saying 2Pac wouldn't be impressed with so many people trying to be like him, hence the whoa at the end? Iunno... other thoughts? |
Jimmy Wayne – I Love You This Much Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm with poohbluesky He spent his whole life thinking no one loved him, because his relationship with his father seemed really bad, but at the funeral he finally found God. |
Bob Marley and the Wailers – Jammin' Lyrics | 17 years ago |
How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts? What did he say when he bought his mates doughnuts? Aaah. Immaturity at its best :) A great song to just chill to. |
Mika – Billy Brown Lyrics | 17 years ago |
When you copy and paste lyrics... at least check them out. I think you'll find it's 'dodgy' holiday, 'unto his faith he said he'd duty found' and maybe his faith was 'earthly' bound? Kinda narrative song with a clear meaning, the guy realises he's gay, but tries to hide from it and ignore it? The chorus suggests it may be kinda applicable to a larger range of things, basically, be who you are, and don't feel forced to change yourself because of what others think and say. do what's natural? |
The College Life – A Love Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Hehe These guys do make me chuckle. Found them last year on purevolume. Its pretty self-explanatory - about love... or sex |
Amber Pacific – Falling Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Its about drifting From the one you love? Hmmm. |
Ronnie Day – Call My Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |
one thing... isnt it 'and this is neither of them'? |
Ronnie Day – Call My Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow... This song is sublime! Packed with emotion. I'd say (knowing absolutely nothing about the band, i only got the song by clicking the 'last commented' link, then reading the lyrics and thinking, 'wow') that the speaker has just split up with the one he loved, poddibly a first love, by the passing of notes, he's saying he still loves her, but he's going to try and begin the healing process, but if she needs him, just call and he'll be there. I love this guys voice... |
David Melillo – Knights of the Island Counter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I discovered this guy by just browsing acoustic on purevolume Instantly love it! This song is pretty much how i spent my wjole year - Going out with friends, getting blind drunk an forgetting many important things (like most of how i lost my v :s) Meanwhile inside i was in turmoil, i had all this shit i felt inside, but i just did exactly this everynight - go out, get wasted, forget about everything in the morning. Anyone know a way i can get his cd in the UK without internet buying (shitty bank card) |
Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
OK, does any one know where i can find the lyrics to the mix between this and a Tupac song, i beleive the Tupac song's called rearview... |
Robots in Disguise – Transformer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
*Transformers! Robots in Disguise* Just a coincedence? Never really been sure... About love possibly? falling in love, like being punch drunk, then it all falls apart...? just an idea |
Soho Dolls – Prince Harry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think it's summat to do with moving to the UK from America? I'd say 'dull rainy weather' has gotta be summat about the weather here, and 'saving up USD's for British university' Could it be questioning why so many people move from one to the other? maybe she's suggesting the come for prince harry as a kinda piss take thingy. anyway, love the band, only really got into them the last week, and went to see them in Camden last night... So good! |
Pearl Jam – Dirty Frank Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I really do quite like this song. Very Chili-esque. I like it. Obviously just a mucking around on the tour bus winding up the driver. |
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Call Me Ishmael Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think its all about living for the moment, leaving your crap, drab '9 to 5' jobs, and getting out and doing something worthwhile. i wish i'd seen these guys at Reading. |
Will Smith – The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Lyrics | 17 years ago |
not just the 80s i was born in 89 and i grew up to the fresh pince know the lyrics off by heart. cause im cool. i miss this programme. i need to get sky. |
TV Themes – 90's TV - Saved By The Bell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is a deep meaningful insight into the angst felt by many teenagers, such as Samuel Powers, as they go into high school and face the pressures of society to suceed and do well. It references the way that the writer always feels that he just misses every opportunity in life; he's on the corner in time to see the bus fly by, but he plans to try and blag his way through school, procrastinating; 'if i hand it in tomorow it'll be alright' and generally doing his best to get away with doing the minimum amount of work. I think that this person succeeds in life, beacuse in the end he's saved by the bell, but is it really the school bell? or is it the bell that tolls to signify death? is he actually saying it's alright because he dies? maybe when he sees the bus fly by, he is distracted and gets knocked down by a lorry? He gets away with not doing the homework because he is infact dead. |
The Kooks – You Don't Love Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Fuck Katie Melua, it's my ode to fliss. but that aside, i think he could've written it about her, and she doesn't love him anymore. |
The Kooks – Time Awaits Lyrics | 17 years ago |
NOTHING WRONG WITH REDNECK!!!! lol. Now that's over, i do love the funk it gets into, I think it's probably about sex. Or murder. not sure... lol, i think it maybe about a girl that seems to have baggage, and he says cut the crap, put effort into it or ill just ignore you, and leave you knocking at the door. probably wrong though |
