Brand New – Degausser Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think the chorus goes like this: you're brought back but you're running i'll find sleep in the incline OR alkaline i can't shake this little feeling i'll never get anything right and the second time around it sounds a little more like: goodbye, my love you're brought back but you're running (background: you wait right here, and they will come and pick you up. i've been on pause. but i’m shaking off the rust. i’ve lost my charge. i've been degaussed. i've been degaussed i've been degaussed...) i'll lose sleep in the incline OR alkaline (although it sounds more like incline) i can't shake this little feeling i'll never get anything right and then they keep saying "i'm on my own/i'll never say anything right." but i can't hear what they are saying in the background of that... tell me what ya think. |
Brand New – Yeah (Sowing Season) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
nevermind don't look at my shit explaination of the song because it's wrong. it's about parents waiting for their son(s) to come home from war. "Tying both your shoes and Looking past the ocean for the signal Waiting for a body In a open box" but that part definitely sounds like they are anticipating his death. and "is he coming back?" sounds like they are unsure if he's going to come back alive. okay explaination v.2.0 is over. |
Brand New – Yeah (Sowing Season) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ummm jesse has 6 brothers/sisters, so with that in mind, "Listening at night Waiting for a son to come up the stairs Listening at night Waiting for the sound of the car park" to me that sounds like it's from the viewpoint of jesse's parents, thinking about their sons, jesse's brothers/jesse himself. doesn't he still live at home with them? "Tying both your shoes and Looking past the ocean for the signal Waiting for a body In a open box" that sounds like someone is waiting for a marine, to come home. or the marine's body to be shipped back because he died. "They don't send you letters They telephone you They don't send you letters But you're waiting for them You write him, yeah" and that sounds like parents writing to their children who have moved out. but the children are adults now and they don't have time to write back, but the parent's still wait. okay that is my totally incohesive attempt at trying to dissect the song. |
Brand New – Welcome to Bangkok Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Brand New – Handcuffs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
direct quote from vin: "choking babies, gettin it on with cops, and robin hood (ie: stealing from the rich, giving to the poor)." it's also my mom's favorite song. holler. |
Brand New – Luca Lyrics | 17 years ago |
L.U.C.A means "last universal common ancestor." not that it has anything to do with anything. |
Brand New – Jesus Christ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
when i first heard "we all got wood and nails" i thought maybe it could mean that everyone has the ability to reject christ, or "nail him back up." i mean, "we." ... who knows. AND, it's "my PRIDE is too SLY to hold back all my DARK." ya dig? |
Brand New – Untitled Lyrics | 17 years ago |
if he is saying "i could never listen..." that would make sense since we are all trying so hard to listen to hear what he says! but i hear "i could never miss it." doesn't much matter since it sounds beautiful, no matter what jesse is saying. but the first time anything is said, it sounds like a little girl saying it, or am i crazy? |
Against Me! – Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% Lyrics | 18 years ago |
dear skaught- something can be related to the music industry without having to do with "selling out." |
Against Me! – Impact Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Against Me! – Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is the most amazing against me! song. i think it's about record labels and the music industry in general and how getting caught up in all of it can really but a strain on personal relationships. "I called just to say good night. And you hadn't done anything wrong, really, it's me not you."- gives me the impression that he's upset with things and maybe he's taking it out on a friend/girlfriend/family member. of course, i could be wrong. |
