| So I see that apparently Courtney used a quote from Julia Roberts in this song, "I am not a feminist." But honestly I'd like to know why. Is it supposed to be ironic? Is she really not a feminist? They'll both die lonely because they weren't meant for each other, but they're both too stubborn to change for each other's different lifestyles/personalities. 'Full of god' is referring to their egos, and 'god makes plenty' is saying that their lives won't be anything spectacular because they'll be just like everyone else, settling for the person who is just like them, and who they get alone with most, not necessarily the person they love the most, who might not be quite such a practical choice, and who might actually take hard work to make things work. "You will go on searching For someone to keep you killing If you love me, won't you leave me? 'cause I want to settle down" >She'll keep on looking for someone else to hurt. She's still playing games with him. She won't leave him alone. He's stuck on her, but he wants her to leave him alone, so he can move on and find someone else to start a life with, who won't leave him. "First you Fade into the background Wouldn’t even call me Had the nerve to leave me Go ahead and love me I’m a hungry man Ever since you went away" >The distance grew between them in their relationship when she wouldn't return his calls, which lead to hear leaving him altogether. Despite all this he wants her back because no one else made him feel the way she did. He wonders if she knows that she haunts him all the time (her shadow). She looks lonely to him, even though she's getting around. Though she wanted her freedom, it seems as if she's numb not really feeling anything real anymore. He thinks if they just woke up, the pain that they would have to go through to make things work would be worth it, but he knows she won't give in aka 'she's no fun'. He left a bitter taste in her mouth, which has sent her out to callously senselessly selfishly break someone else's heart to save her own pride. Instead of learning from what was done to her she will repeat her history in reverse to an innocent guy. At this point she only exists in his mind, and he wishes he could stop thinking of her because he just wants to start a life with someone, but he can't seem to move on even though he know he doesn't have the option to do it with her. He feels like they made such a huge mistake by breaking up, and he wants so badly to fix it before it's too late for him to have any chance with her.
