He doesn't write just about drugs. It is a big part of his song writing, because most of his life he was doing drugs, getting clean, then relapsing. So it only makes sence to write about something you've been involved in most of your life |

Oh, and if you don't know, "Get the message on Flea's fist" is "love". Flea has "love" tatooed on his fist one letter on each finger. (I think it's love, please correct me if I'm wrong. |

I only heard this song recently, but I love it. It's such an uplifting song, especially during the chorus. It's the only RHCP song I can't pronounce or spell, lol.
And AKSSOULBRIDE, this song was put on Californication when it was re-released on iTunes earlier this year. |

Lulabelle I do have some recommendations for you. You should first start with "Californication" (1999), It's what got me into them, and its a great album with a variety of songs. Then maybe "By the Way" or "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". "By the Way", which came out in 2002 is a little different than "Californication", but its still great. For some reason, people hate you if "By the Way" is the first RHCP album you listened too, which is really stupid because its the same band (most of the time), and I don't exactly think that the band would appericate their fans hating each other simply because of what their favorite album is. "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" (1991) is the album that basically made them "cool", and it is awesome. Then if you like those, you can pretty much see what others you like, with a special recommendation going to "Mother's Milk" (1989).
I hope that helped you, lulabelle. If you want I could give you a brief history of them. If you decided you like them enough, definitly see them live, they are way better live. If you can't do that, just look on the internet or pick up "Live in Hyde Park" (2004), which is their live CD (of course).
