The National – Mr. November Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the versatility of this song reflects a skilled songwriter-- one who is able to make something universal yet personal, so that so many people can relate to it in a unique way.

Wilco – On and On and On Lyrics 17 years ago
How sure is whoever posted this of the lyrics, because I heard different things.
I heard 'yet' where all the 'yeah's are...
and 'I will live and you, oh you will live in me'
I can't really find it anywhere else, but I'm just wondering if you're sure?

TV on the Radio – Wolf Like Me Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's using the "werewolf sex metaphor" to say... "I want to know all your secrets, the things you wouldn't tell anyone. I want that kind of open love, where we know so much about each other that we're one." And I think the howling in the end isn't like howling of despair...but maybe they're howling together, because they feel bad and good things together?
I dunno. This is my favorite song right now.

The Presidents of the United States of America – Peaches Lyrics 18 years ago
this controversy is very amusing...no reason for people to get all worked up about it. I mean can't a guy just enjoy some peaches?

Say Anything – Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too Lyrics 18 years ago
Gosh I love the beat so much in this song, it's a shame...it couldn't be a little more profound, or at least something you could blast on the stereo (comfortably). Did anyone else catch that right after he said "I'm only human with my cross to bear" he adds "I forgot all the rules my rabbi..." I wonder if they did that on purpose?...

Say Anything – Admit It!!! Lyrics 18 years ago
this verse seems REALLY clear to me:
You spend your time sitting in circles with your friends
"Pontificating to each other forever competing for that one moment of self aggrandizing glory
In which you hog the intellectual spotlight
Holding dominion over the entire shallow pointless conversation"
Oh man, oh man does that put it to words. It's SO easy to see throught these people. Not that they're insecure, they think they're grand, and they try to enforce that belief on everyone, ..one person really comes to mind here, she is forever "pontificating" on POINTLESS things.
But basically this song just puts a frustration of mine into words. (not that we're not ALL guilty of seeking attention every once in awhile)

the first part remindes me of a wanna-be rap song.

Nelly – Grillz Lyrics 18 years ago
I really don't think songmeanings should put rap songs on here, to be honest i was suprised to find this one. Because, I mean, there's really no room for interpretation. Okay, well maybe that's too broad a statement, they shouldn't put SOME rap songs on here. Scotty by D4L needed some interpreting for me.

Dispatch – Flying Horses Lyrics 18 years ago
I got a different message from the song. I think it's about how beauty is not the most important thing, and it's definately temporary (the ring is rusted, all he has of the girl is a lock). I think it means true love has little to do with looks, but everyone has to learn that. The badger and the one eyed toad already know this, in their wisdom. In the end the man in the song learns this because he says "don't try to find me, they're much happier on their own" but somehow beauty like that has no home kinda doesn't fit my interpretation, maybe he's still a little lovestruck?
