Streetlight Manifesto – What a Wicked Gang Are We... Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
I think the song title is very clever.
Don't know if anyone else felt this but when I read the song title for the first time I took the word 'wicked' in the more colloquial context of a synonym for 'awesome' or similar. After listening to the song and analysing the lyrics I of course realised that was not the case. A clever semantic ambiguity perhaps or maybe it's just me. |

Dark Tranquillity – Insanity's Crescendo Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
I agree with both of you but I think Ixes has got it. It is how people are apathetic towards certain things and instead of letting ourselves go and letting our true selves show we choose to hide and lie to avoid possible conflict whereas the way forward is to speak our minds; transcend others who conform to others but just to be ourselves. |

Dark Tranquillity – Zodijackyl Light Lyrics

|
I would suggest that zodijackyl means simply 'pertaining to the zodiac'. Being Swedish it would be pronounced with a soft 'j' suggesting that it would just sound like Zodiacal like Mystical means pertaining to mystery. |

Dark Tranquillity – The Mundane and the Magic Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
These lyrics are a little wrong but the Pre-chorus and chorus especially.
Apply layers to reality
Things only you can see
Add a beat to normality
To tap the core of insanity
I let my dreams cross over
To days of endless grey
If I could merge the mundane and the magic
We'd forge the new unknown
I let my dreams crossover
To nothingness and back again
If I could merge the mundane and the magic
Where is the dark I came to find? |

The Haunted – All Against All Lyrics

Simple drum intro but it just rocks so much. Kinda like Better to Reign in Hell - Cradle of Filh. XBFNoodles is bang on. You might as well just read his one. |

Cradle of Filth – The Byronic Man Lyrics
|
Part of this song, interpreted by my friend, is referring to drowning...
'There's nothing like a mouthful of Venetian tar
To let you know just who you fucking are'
This exclamation refers to drowning as Venetain tar suggests the idea of a road surface in Venice. The roads in Venice are of course canals so the idea that drowning occurs is expressed here. Also the saying 'your life flashes before your eyes' is implied here. Ville Valo singing 'My world is falling, world is falling down' impies life flashing before the eyes. |

Cradle of Filth – Better To Reign In Hell Lyrics

The drum intro when played after Damned in Any Language is the epitome of intros, which Cradle of Filth have always been very good at. e.g Medusa and Hemlock, Cthulhu Dawn. |

Cradle of Filth – Thank God For The Suffering Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
In my opinion it is just an allegory for something different. It's the kind of thing Cradle of Filth would do and it would cause it to fit in with the 'Paradise Lost' scenario. I feel that it is just a song about the power of lust. |

Muse – Map of the Problematique Lyrics
|
It isn't a very similar style to enjoy the silence in my opinion. I think that Muse may have been influenced by Depeche Mode but I don't think this song has any connection. I believe this song is about wanting equality between people.
'When we bleed, we bleed the same'
It is about how people think they are better but when we bleed we bleed the same. Physically we are all the same and we will all die. |

You don't need to be a hardcore Slipknot fan to know about MFKR. I'm not but I know it exists. It is they're fifth album but I guess I'd consider it as they're fourth. MFKR just kinda blends into the background of the Slipknot career I find. |

Also, being really sad here, the lyrics that have been put up are gramatically very wrong. You're is what YOU'RE looking for. (you are seeing double) |

CKY – 96 Quite Bitter Beings Lyrics

This song is a ballad I'd say. Using ballad in the terms of it is a story told in a song. It's like a ballad just being kicked up the arse. Taken over by the pumping metal of CKY... |

Love this song. Usually listen to black metal but there are of course exceptions. This is definitely one of them! It is definitely a crush song. Guy singing the praises of a girl kinda thing. |

KoЯn – Right Now Lyrics

This song is just an aggression song. I reckon KoRn were just really pissed off and decided to release their anger in a productive way. This song is awesome if you are angry. |

six words.. 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust'. On the album what is the next song? Ashes. Ashes are remains. This song is all about birth and death. We take nothing into life and leave eveything behind as well. |

I agree with some comments before. The style of this song cannot mean it is just about sex. I would say it is more about romance. More about a emotional bond between two people than a physical one. |

Cradle of Filth – Nemesis Lyrics
|
I havent read all the above comments but there is a bit in it relevant to Dani...
Poured in my arms,
When my daughter's eyelids closed,
I swore to slaughter those
Who stole my ray of moonlight.
He is stating the death of anyone who takes his daughter away by death or otherwise. The 'ray of moonlight' refers to his daughter's name Luna. Luna of course being Latin for moon. |
