I can't quite pinpoint the meaning of this song quite yet. I thinking that two people are drifting perhaps one is moving on to bigger things. This part sticks out to me most: "It's like a jigsaw, maybe You found the corner piece first" I think they're saying that they need to put things back together and to start they need the corner piece. Or the parts of their relationship where they connect, or have things in common. Overall, its an amazing song. |

I agree I think its just a song to help get through those lonely times. When you're wondering if there really are that many fish in the sea. Theres a video of Glen singing this acostic by him self. Its great. He switches up the lyrics and I think they fit best how he does it there. This song means a lot to me. This is what i get from it, i could be wrong but its art and art can be interpreted a million different ways. Two people in a relationship, that is falling or fell apart. And both said that they wouldnt care that it was over, and that they werent attached. But then one day you realize that you were and still are attached. Thus "you never said it but I think I get it and maybe you were right that I miss you Seven I miss you Seven" "well I stopped but how can I really stop and stay stopped?" Thats my favorite part. They're also a little bit confused because the other person said it was their fault it ended. Hence... "well I never thought I'd hear you say that I did the driving and the falling knives" This is probably one of my favorite TLW songs, though I love them all. |

I will admit that i secretly love this song but... It is so shallow. He loves this girl, he doesnt even know and he wants to be with her. I personally love this song. I believe that the song is about a person who has never had a relationship and finds someone like a hookup and gets hurt. They think they need to give up on relationships all together. The songwriter is giving advice by saying its okay to be alone and not have anyone. He is getting frustratred hence the "Heaven forbid you end up Alone and don't know why" He is somewhat mocking the person But he also cares for this person and tells them to not give up. I can relate to this song because i have never been in a relationship and can realize that its tough. I love the fray. |
