The Silver Jews – The Frontier Index Lyrics 18 years ago
This has very melancholic undertones to it. The lyrics are very random, but all link together about the future and good intentions but how we can't always pursue them. Every verse is brilliant. Verse 6 is the best of all. David C Berman always has a good sense of humour in his lyrics but delivers them quite seriously and he is soooo good looking too.

'have you seen the inside of my ceilng's gotta big wild grin inside, miles wide...'

the best sexually expressive lyric ever!

Pram – Penny Arcade Lyrics 18 years ago
This should've been a single! It shimmers with suspense and whimsical retrospect. I think is was inspired by (as indeed the whole album) by the film 'carnival of souls', a kind of cult classic which Pram are fans of. I love the way it describes how we slip into our fantasy worlds innocently.

Pram – Nightwatch Lyrics 18 years ago
This would be in my top 5 Pram songs. The music is beautiful and has a dreamlike whirl which gradually becomes rather nightmarish. A slight music-concrete vibe too. I relate my own personal objective to someone when understanding the lyrics but Rosie could be singing about a child.

Pram – Gravity Lyrics 18 years ago
This is a brilliant fast paced anxiety ride with elements of jazz, hip hop and pram's lo-fi experimental sensibilities sewn into the music. The lyrics are very dark and sinister about the concept of love and obsession. Something maybe darker is projected in the second paragraph. I also thnk it's saying how love can be seen as this truly wonderful thing but in reality it isn't. Pram always throw many shades and tones into the equation which are like puzzle's for the head
