SOME PPL THINK THAT JESUS WAS UPSET WITH GOD WHEN HE SAID "WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME" BUT HE WAS QUOTING THIS LINE FROM THE BOOK OF PSALM 43. SO THAT THE JEWS WOULD UNDERSTAND WHO HE WAS. |

Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 18 years ago |
lol. I don't know which government could have made up a story such as the one about Jesus. Certainly some one a little brighter than Bush. In Great Britain about 500 years ago, the catholic church did use Jesus to keep ppl in check. They had a big influence over political matters back then and would not allow any one else to read the bible and would also put ppl to death if they were caught with 1, for fear of their lies being exposed. But thats the Catholic church. Rotten to the core and perverts the truth in order to make big bucks. Big fancy Church buildings? Popes? Baptizing babies? A mask of righteousness for evil deeds. The real Jesus is all about love! Read for yourself. |
Jeff Buckley – Mojo Pin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I used to think that this song went "born again from the RIVER" as in being baptised in water for the forgiveness of sin. I discovered Jeff's music around the same time as I became a Christian, so Grace was like my soundtrack to when I was seeking God. The line "To serve and pray to love" made me think of a passage in the book of John "to those who do not love, dont know me. For God is Love" The whole album has a spiritual feel about it and it is a fine peice of art. |
Jeff Buckley – So Real Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song man. oh yeah shivers me timbers o argh! Not to keen on the distorted bit somehow. which is weird cos I'm a fan of Nirvana and the like. Think it seems out of place in this song tho. But hey, who am I? x x |
Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
O.K, I love this song and I cant add any more than what has been said about it. I became a Christian last year and have read a lot of the old testament and now see that many song writers find inspiration from it. |
The Cure – 39 Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Steely Dan – The Fez Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It also sounds like a song about a man with an odd fetish one of my fav tracks on the album this song is so addictive |
Steely Dan – Aja Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Brilliant track love the whole damn album they had reached a new level of cool by this album. the scottish group deacon blue got their name from the third track on the album as the dan was the lead singers fav group. |
Guns N' Roses – One In A Million Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If Slash was unhappy at the lyrics then why did he play guitar in the song. I suppose the only thing you can say about axl is he is honest. But he should have tried to have a bit more understanding towards others before he included this song in an album. |
Guns N' Roses – My World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think that this song caused some tension in the band. Axl wanted to do nine inch nails stuff but every one else wanted to stick with what they were doing. It used to freak me out too |
Beck – Devil's Haircut Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Could this song be about the Brittish band Oasis and their bad boy antics (temperatures dropping at the rotten oasis). |
Beck – Bottle Of Blues Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It is a good song. About using alcohol to drown sorrows I think. Loving someone who does'nt love you? |
Bob Dylan – Blowin' in the Wind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I was told by my old man that Bob got inspiration for this song from the book of ecclesiastes. Where it says that many things that man does is meaningless like "chasing after the wind" |

Radiohead – Morning Bell Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song makes me feel very sad because it brings back bad memories about when my parents got divorced. But still love it. Remember having to decide which parent I wanted to live with and I said I didn't want to live with either of them. Cut the kids in half lol. |
Radiohead – Paranoid Android Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is great and even better live. I saw radio head live in 2002 in Scotland, Edinburgh they are the best live band I have seen. Michael Jackson was good to. (don't diss the Jacko lol) Can anyone else here "fitter happier" being played in the background about half way through? Probably just those darn unborn chicken voices again. Pesky little chickens. why me aaaaaahhhhh! |
Radiohead – Fitter Happier Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If you listen closley you can hear fiiter happier played in background of paranoid android. The song makes me think of the book of Ecclesiastes in the bible - about a Jewish king who became depressed after discovering that everything that should have made him happy in life made him feel empty "like chasing after the wind" The book inspired Bob Dylan to write "blowing in the wind" |
Nirvana – On a Plain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
In his early teenage years I beleive (may be wrong) that Kurt became a Christian. If you follow the bible it tells you to "love god with your whole mind, body and soul and love your neighbour as yourself" Jesus said that these 2 commands were the most important and are what summed up the entire holy law of moses.Re - "love myself better than you" Maybe Kurt felt guilty as he could not live up to this expectation and possibly lead him to give up his faith????? Maybe. poss hmmmmmm don't know. see aslo my comments on Jesus dont want me for a sunbeam, lithium, come as you are as I think they all have certain hidden spiritual feelings that Kurt had. Good song by the way Unplugged better. |
Nirvana – Stain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Could have been about someone with HIV? Inner fears of contracting HIV from a dirty needle. Read a book called trainspotting about Junkies in Edinburgh, Scotland (also a film). Chapter in the book called bad blood - about a guy with HIV. The riff is very similar to the riff in Prince of persia 2 on the ps2 |
Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
on numerous occasions when he overdosed. (I think he had about 13 near fatal overdoses in the last year alive). Guess who brought him back to life? Courtney did, why then kill your husband when you had plenty of chances to just let him die. Some ppl need to face facts. |
Nirvana – Milk It Lyrics | 18 years ago |
ok, anyway I like the lyrics "I am my own parasite" Kurt was his own worst enemy, and these lyrics show that he was aware of this. Very insightfull he was. However dead he now is. x |

Nirvana – Endless, Nameless Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I used to think that he was singing "summer" instead of "mother". I think it is because i live in Scotland and the winters are sooooo cold and I long for the Summer sun. But does any one else care??? |
Nirvana – Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
love the line "I miss the comfort in being sad" Reminds me of king soloman in the old Jewish king in the old testament who said "sorrow is better than laughter because a sad face is good for the heart" also "The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure" Ecclesiastes chapter 7. |
Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 18 years ago |
oh yeah, The original song was written by a Sunday School teacher named Nellie talbott in 1900. She said, "there is always something to sing about, we have the sun in the sky which god has given us" It also fits in with a passage in the book of Judges which says "may they who love you be like the sun" Judges 5:31. |
Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 18 years ago |
OK MY BROS AND SISTERS. here are the lyrics to the original CHRISTIAN version of the song which inspired my fellow countrymen from Scotland, the vaselenes. I got the lyrics from www.cyberhymnal.org. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, To shine for Him each day; In every way try to please Him, At home, at school, at play. Refrain A sunbeam, a sunbeam, Jesus wants me for a sunbeam; A sunbeam, a sunbeam, I’ll be a sunbeam for Him. Jesus wants me to be loving, And kind to all I see; Showing how pleasant and happy His little one can be. Refrain I will ask Jesus to help me To keep my heart from sin, Ever reflecting His goodness, And always shine for Him. Refrain I’ll be a sunbeam for Jesus; I can if I but try; Serving Him moment by moment, Then live with Him on high. Refrain I have been a Nirvana fan for years, but now find it hard to listen to this Nirvana track as it be dissin Jesus. I became a Christian last year and It has made me very happy as before I was rather depressed. I would recomend any 1 to give it a try - but be carefull as there are many greedy wolves in sheeps clothing after your cash. Read the bible yourself and find the joy it can bring. peace to all. |
Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't buy the kids/cancer story. Even if Kurt said it was. Kurt used to lie constantly to cover up his feelings and for his own amusement. I prefer to go with the song being about his relationship with Courtney. He and Courtney may have been going through a rough patch when he was asked about the meaning of the song - so as an act of defiance he may have gone with the kids/cancer story. Jesus loves u all. |

Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think the song is about someone finding God. But it wouldn't be punk rock enough to call it something like "I found peace in Jesus" How many copies would that sell? Not many I suspect. So, instead he disguises the song, and makes it look as if he is comparing Christian happyness and the effects of an extremly powerfull anti-depressant. Kurt was the king at revealing thoughts close to his heart and then feeling vulnerable and deciding to covering them up. Many of us do the same because not many of us have the courage to say what we really feel. A classic comment he made was,"Lyrics are secondary and the music is primary" But I suspect, that many of his song writing gave him a source of therapy, which would benifit him more than his fans. Jesus does want you for a sunbeam. peace out!!! |
Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Kurt may have wrote this song from Jesus' point of view. Jesus wants us all to come to him so that he may influence and change our lives for the better. Don't forget, Kurt had a Christian friend who he lived with when he was homeless as a youth. The same friend who influenced Kurt to write Lithium perhaps. Kurt became increasingly obessed by spiritual matters in the latter stages of his life. On the unplugged ulbum he sang many songs about death, salvation, hell, the after life and morality. He realised that despite his wealth, fame and undisputed talent, he could not find peace within himself because he wasn't sure what the meaning of life is. He could not deal with his emotional problems properly as his heroin problem spiraled out of control. I beleive he did kill himself, as he had attempted suicide a month before in rome with many sleeping pills. Why would Courtney try and kill him, if he was taking reckless amounts of heroin and had already had a failed attempt on his own life a month prior to his death? The person I feel sorry for the most is his daughter Frances bean. she has no father and her mother has serious drug/mental issues. The American dream is not enough when you have deep seated heart ache. |
