I love this song, it's incredibly catchy! I always thought the line was "hollowed out by your tongue" though. |

I agree this is just a beautifully written song. The whole album is incredible, my favorite Matt Pond album. |

I also believe the correct lyric is "a week of falling eyes" meaning students eyes cast downward when the two girls pass by? |

I LOVE this song, it's just a perfect pop song in my mind.
The line 'and they could float above the grass' sounds much more like "and they could float above the cars"; give it a listen.
His voice on this song kind of reminds me of a young David Gilmour at times. |

A great song written for his daughter. I love all the songs he has written for his wife and kids, so poignant. |

Neil Young – Falling From Above Lyrics

I agree with both of you, just an amazing song. The whole tune is simple and pure yet very powerful. I also love the guitar tone Neil gets on this and the rest of Greendale for that matter. |

Neil Young – Crime In The City Lyrics

This song is so sweet, yeah the weld version is the definitive version in my opinion. The ones he did on the acoustic tour in 1989 were great too! |

jumpyjack, whats your problem dude? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and there's no need for personal attacks. I happen to agree with Mike on this song, it just didn't do anything for me. Am I an idiot too? |

Also, PrimoOoze, are you sure your dad wasn't referring to After the Goldrush? I see absolutely no connection between Harvest Moon and ufo's! |

I believe this is another song written primarily about his wife Pegi. The video of this song focuses on the two of them dancing together. |

Neil Young – Down By The River Lyrics

It has absolutely nothing to do with Heroin, whats with people associating everything done in the 60's and 70's with drugs? |

I agree with wetcoaster on this one. And I believe Neil offered this song to Lynyrd Skynyrd, although I'm not sure if he wrote it expressly for them. |

Neil Young – Cocaine Eyes Lyrics

While Neil admittedly did his share of the powder in the 70's, both himself and people who knew him have stated that he most certainly was not a coke addict. He did it from time to time and then would stop for long periods. |

Neil Young – Unknown Legend Lyrics

I agree this is just an incredibly beautiful song, not depressing to me at all, very uplifting actually. I believe this was written about, and for, his wife Pegi. |

Neil Young – Are You Ready for The Country? Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
On the country show Nashville Now in 1984 Neil explained to the host Ralph Emery that he originally got the idea of this song from looking at the picture of Uncle Sam. He imagined the Uncle Sam poster with it's finger pointed out at us and saying "Are you ready for the country? Because it's time to go" I assume he was talking about the Vietnam war seeing as he wrote it in the early 1970's. |
