I think this song is about a guy who has lost his way in life, has gotten into trouble with drugs and has messed up his life in general, he is lonely now, walking alone at nights but there is a girl, who, he knows has always been there for him and maybe knows she still is there, that is why he says ''I don’t know why
You want to follow me tonight'' maybe he wonders why is she still there after what he has done. So now he goes back to her to ask for her forgiveness, he knows she is the only one he needs and who can help him. |

For me this song is the best coldplay song ever written. The melody as well as the lyrics are unique. I think its about a man who has regretted what he has done and now he is found in a total confusion state and wants to undone the things he has done. Possibly treating his gf wrong or making decisions he just didnt mean to do, now he realised he wants her back but maybe its too late the clock is ticking ... and he is wondering if he is any longer useful to her ''Am I a part of the cure, Or am I part of the disease?''He tries to overcome these difficulties in a climate of overwhelming feelings of desperation.If someone dedicated this song to me i would sure let him... take me home where he wanted to be home. |

This is one of my 5 favourite songs. It's so deep and emotional and it always makes me melacholic. I love this song whenever I feel sad or nostalgic about a relationship or someone or about life in general I like to listen to this song. Its a constant reminder of how relationships are.. good moments, love , sorrow and pain. It's a depressing song because it's realistic about how things can turn out to be in relationship but also with a very optimistic twist at the end...''So never mind the darkness we still can find a way 'Cause nothin' lasts forever, even cold November rain''.
