this is a powerful song. about stoping and thinking about where you are going in life. everyone coasts through life so fast. and the only chance anyone gets to stop and think about it is when we are focred to stop at a red light. this song is about choices you dont have to stop you could blow through the light, speed through life untill it's over. then where are you? you can keep drinking, or you can stop and think about why you are and realize it's not making things any better. i think jonny's telling everyone thorugh this song that we shouldnt live our lives in fast forward. we should stop and think about it sometimes. live life and never give up. but thats just my point of view :) |

i will!!! just because this is a good song and i have no life comment comment comment this song's about sex. the guy dosnt really want to do what they are doing but she's got him hooked-the stuck in cement thing- so he's screwed (no pun intended) i'm thinking they are one of those couples who break up constantly but have sex a lot so they think its all good. well she does anyway. he just takes it "like a pill" cause he's a guy and there's no way he's going to say no to that. he will just not like it because of the circumstances. yay regret but he wishes she would get it and listen to him and realize how this is making him feel. that whore... thats just what i think anyway |

such a good song so good, i love it i couldnt figure out if i thought this song was about the beginning or the end of a relationship...? i totally agreed with what piano girl said ^^ but then i sortof looked at the lyrics from a different direction i'v gone over the lyrics and kinda come up with a scenario that could be totally wrong but makes some since if you look at it right... i think the girl may be dieing. the stuff about her smoking and the fire in her lungs could mean cancer.. idk recreate what we call "hope" - you know how doctors always say stuff about not losing hope. she dosnt care anymore and is going to smoke that cigarette. she's creating her own hope. he is just now accepting that he cant do anything about all of this. he dosnt know exactly what to say, he's tongue tied. but he has accepted it finally, he's not shaking anymore all he wants is that last dance he loves her so much "i'd crack concrete falling down for you" (love that) "give me an ending and we'll stop pretending" they arnt going to pretend that nothing is wrong anymore. that ending is coming. its the end of her life. "start flames to burn out" - could be a way of saying that life begins and ends (could also be that relationship dieing so idk) if you've seen the move 'a walk to remember' then yah... so there's something to ponder and throw around have fun with it :) |

when stuff happens and you get more insight on particular things you interperate things differently. that was my view a while ago ^ but now i'm pretty posative what this song means. to me anyway. everyone's heard of "friends with binafits" thats what i feel this song is about. hypathetical guy and girl are friends. she wants to be more than just friends, but not in the dateing since. he knows he wants her but then agean he dosnt want to kill what they allready have as friends. he would do anything for her but there's only one thing that she really wants (kindof ironic that its a girl really, since we know what guys are like) it all seams good for a while... but once he thinks about it he realizes he hates what he's done. he knows that now that he's done this there's no way they can go back to being just friends "we'll never be the same" there is no way he can postably feel like friends now that he's done this, it will allways be odd... "never feel this way agean" when he says "You know what happens when the lights back on" i'm pretty sure he's referring to life while there not in the bedroom... and "The less you know the more you want"... it could refer back to the 'never agean being friends really' thing, in that she dosnt want to get that close to him because it makes it that much more painful to want what she wants from him. he dosnt want to, he knows he shouldnt, but he does anyway. because she wants to... and then hates himself for it .... Never again Just tonight? Okay. |
