Arcade Fire – City with No Children Lyrics

i totally see that too!! i havent seen it in awhile.
the millionaire in a private mansion is that guy he goes to for money, who has all that great art.
"I wish that I could have loved you then
Before our age was through
And before a world war does with us
Whatever it will do"
Like the main characters, how they were in love way long ago but the whole events ruined their relationship and brought them back together but it was too late. |

hahaha...... i literally had the exact same experience. and i think the lyrics kind of pertain to that, like everything you regret in your own past is so small and so insignificant it's kind of like worrying over a dead fly. |

Portugal. The Man – Fantastic Pace Lyrics

This is one of my favorites off of american ghetto!! it reminds me of a friend.
It’s about a kid who is outcast from his community because he doesn't fit in. his parents are kind of eccentric, living in an unfinished shitty house. He acts out and does socially unacceptable stuff because he sees the flaws in the American dream of “guns and gold.” No one can accept who he is or what ideals he stands for. Instead, they keep pushing him down and trying to repress who he is inside, wanting him to get a job in the mine and move on with his life. The song kind of ends on a cliff hanger… how does he deal with it? We know he’s “giving up his place” but we don’t know if he’s running into the woods like Colton Harris-Moore or Christopher McCandless, or if he ends up killing himself to escape. |

The Antlers – Atrophy Lyrics

his wife, the woman of this song, literally just abuses him over and over again but he stays with her because he's in love with her and he knows that if he leaves her she will be alone because her friends and family don't like her. i think she's been sick her entire life and when he met her he knew immediately she was special so he took care of her, and married her, and knew that no matter how cruel he was "bound to her bedside, her eulogy singer" because of the vowels he made and the "ring on his finger".
throughout the entire album he alludes to her haunting him, and it reminds me of edgar allan poe. i think he was dark to begin with but watching someone so fragile die from something he couldn't protect her from made him want to die with her.
my favorite line is "i'd happily take all of those bullets inside of you and put them inside of myself" |

I like the live version from Live at East Stroudsburg U, 10/17/05 better its cooler and the crowds into it. If you can find it, get it. The song is about living your life while its still wonderful and not to build walls to keep people from getting close to you. Theres a video for it now so this song will probably be huge, soon. |

You get a little slower when the fall moves past
But you'll never find another love like my love"
Adorable, and very catchy. |

The All-American Rejects – 11:11 P.M. (CST) Lyrics

11:11 is the last point in the day where you can wish on the four digits so it is his last chance to wish and to try for something higher. Its cryptic, it could be when he wrote the song or something in a memory. |

Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Lyrics

I like Matt Pond Pa's version better but no cover takes the place of the original.
If this is about Anne Frank then i think that the part "But for now we are young/Let us lay in the sun/And count every beautiful thing we can see" is about what her father Otto Frank told her when he gave her the diary as a present. If you remember he said that there are no locks on your mind, that even though Anne was trapped physically she could still "dream herself out" and learn and watch the world in wonder around her. I read the play version of the "Diary of Anne Frank" but i didnt get relation from this song to the story.
And i dont think the singers in love with her, he just respects her.
And it is strange to be anything at all, that we are still alive to see the day and how when you think about it we are just bones and sinews and to see another day is a gift we are given. The writer of the song sees this in life and that he is trying to live his youth out fully. |

Go Sailor – Bigger Than an Ocean Lyrics

This song is really catchy and for some reason it is on my itunes from my sister or something so i know nothing about the band. It sounds kind of childish like its a middleschool girl band. Its very summery and mellow and short. Its about being in love and what extent you would go for that person. |

haha i dont know but the first thing that came to mind for me was the tell-tale heart by edgar allen poe. kind of the sick infatuation with killing someone but other than that its a long, unique, song. just a tad odd. the woman's voice is creepy. |

i cant beleive noones posted. this is an awesom song its really mellow but its got a good beat.
i think of it like it being about after you break up and your still friends or more then friends and you miss them and you still want them and you try to get angry but you cant because you like them too much. i guess in the begining hes saying he wants to know what he wants and what his hearts saying
"I want to hear drums and my heart's a drum.
I guess we never know what to become." |
