Rooney – Sleep Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i first heard this song when i went to see the movie "the chumscrubber" almost half a year ago. the movie was good, but this song honestly stood out to me more than the film did. of course it took me months to (a) figure out who the song was by and then (b) get ahold of it (for some ridiculous reason, it's not on the soundtrack). anyway, it's amazing; i haven't bothered to listen to any of rooney's other stuff (from what i've been told, i don't even think i'd like it). but this song is just amazing. the end. |
The Icarus Line – Love Is Happiness Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it looks to me like he's drawing a comparison between the way his girlfriend makes him feel.. "all the pain that wells and swells and stings me; pain's the only real thing you bring me" and the way the alcohol is "treating" her.. "(have you found the thing you love? because...) all the fucking time you know it takes you and all the fucking time it breaks you." pointing out that the two relationships are actually very similar. in a way, he's showing his own hypocrisy -- he berates his girlfriend for continuing her self-destructive behavior, while he effectively does the same by staying in the relationship. this song reminds me of taking too much nyquil and makes me wanna spaz out every time i listen to it. too good. |
The Icarus Line – And The Sad Thing Is... Lyrics | 18 years ago |
sounds exactly like one of my past relationships... pretty self-explanatory. |
Sneaker Pimps – Loretta Young Silks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i've always thought the line was actually "you sew loretta young silks." it sounds right, goes with the line that follows it, and unlike the alternative "you're so loretta young silks"(??), it makes logical sense. though i might be wrong. |

Death from Above 1979 – Dead Womb Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i'm pretty sure that in the beginning it's: (en español) "la cocaina no es buena para su salud," followed by a rough english translation: "la cocaina (cocaine) is not good for you." amazing song.. probably my second favorite from this band. |
