Slayer – Angel Of Death Lyrics 16 years ago
We play music after our schools announcements in the mornings. I have been thinking how funny it would be to play this song on the first day of school, scare the shit out of all the little freshmen..

Pearl Jam – Push Me, Pull Me Lyrics 16 years ago
This song kind of reminds me of Nine Inch Nails. I never thought I'd say that about Pearl Jam. BTW that's not a good thing IMO.

Rage Against the Machine – Without A Face Lyrics 16 years ago
' "Por vida" and out name up on tha stall '
I think he says "our" not "out", probably just a typo. Still, does anyone understand this line? I know "por vida" means something like "for life".

Radiohead – Creep Lyrics 17 years ago
The fact that so many can relate to this song is kind of sad. This song isn't good for you. A good song, but it's not good for your state of mind. Kind of like Nirvana.

Pearl Jam – Drifting Lyrics 17 years ago
I have heard 2 versions of this song: the original from the 1999 Christmas single (entitled Driftin'), and recently the one found on Lost Dogs (called Drifting). I have to say that the original is much better. They are essentially the same song, but the original is just so much more relaxed, and the worst part is the lack of "damn" in the "they get so damn excited" part. In the Lost Dogs version he just draws out "so" and it sounds too unnatural. So I suggest you check out the original if the Lost Dogs version is the only version you have heard. It can be founds on a PJ related blog called "I am Fuel, You are Friends".

Geto Boys – Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta Lyrics 17 years ago
It's awight... but it aint got nothing on Michael Bolton...
For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman"

Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one of those songs that starts off great but gets a little boring half way through.

Pearl Jam – Hail, Hail Lyrics 17 years ago
"Are you woman enough to be my man?"
I hate this line. I don't care what it really means or whos perspective it is from, but it just sounds weird. It sounds pretty homo coming from a guy (even if he is quoting a woman).

Pearl Jam – Last Kiss (Wayne Cochran cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
I just recently heard the "original" for the first time...
I have to say that while Eddie did not write this song, the way he does it is, IMO, much better. BTW it was actually written by Wayne Cochran. I don't think I have heard his version though.

Bob Dylan – Summer Days Lyrics 17 years ago
"You can't repeat the past." I say, "You can't? What do you mean, you can't? Of course you can."

There is a very similar quote in (the book) "The Great Gatsby"

Pearl Jam – State of Love and Trust Lyrics 17 years ago
"And I listen for the voice inside my head
Nothing, I'll do this one myself"
To me this line is about reaching a point where you can no longer count on your instincts. He wants to know just what to do, but doesn't. You know the feeling when you are doing something routine and think too much about it and it suddenly feels awkward? I think that is the feeling he is trying to convey.

Pearl Jam – Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me Lyrics 17 years ago
Really creepy song, I totally agree that this album is put together much like 10,000 Days, I wonder if Tool meant to copy the layout? Or have other bands had albums with tracks like this before Pearl Jam? Whatever the case I guess it was cool to listen to once, but after that it can just get skipped. For that reason, it is a good closer, anywhere else in the album and it would have totally ruined the flow.

Pearl Jam – Sad Lyrics 17 years ago
How is this song not on a "real" album! I have only heard it live but it is a real powerful song.

Pearl Jam – Rearviewmirror Lyrics 17 years ago
BTW, did anyone else have trouble understanding "saw things" the first time they heard it? It sounds a lot like "soy beeeans" or even "saltineees" (you know, like the crackers).

Pearl Jam – Rearviewmirror Lyrics 17 years ago
Like so many other Pearl Jam songs, this one really shines in the end. The rest of the song is great too but the whole solo/ jamming thing at the end is incredible.

Cream – Sunshine Of Your Love Lyrics 17 years ago
Sounds a lot like Black Sabbath, specifically N.I.B.

Nickelback – Animals Lyrics 17 years ago
I always thought that the first line was "I've been drivin' like I'm black." Too bad it's not, that would have made it even more funny.

Audioslave – What You Are Lyrics 17 years ago
Ever notice how it sounds like hes got something stuck in his throat right before "set" in "set myself on fire."? Its always just kind of bugged me.

Audioslave – Moth Lyrics 17 years ago
To me its about learning a lesson, not making the same mistake over and over again: like a moth to a flame.

I don't like the beginning, but it has a really cool ending.

My Morning Jacket – Lay Low Lyrics 17 years ago
Mine too, almost sounds like it could be a radio single, which is a lot more than I can say for most of their other songs, not that thats a bad thing.

Is this song not popular? I'm not really even into rap and I somehow know this song. I actually like it alot. Really gets you pumped up. Why so few comments?

The Zambonis – Hockey Monkey Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is actually by James Kochalka Superstar, or he was involved in making it somehow. Sweet song, awesome subject, 'nuff said.

They f'd up, theres really only 7 other planets now, scientists officially decided pluto is not a planet. This whole issue just ruins the song for me.

Nonpoint – Alive and Kicking Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is pretty sweet, perfect for woeking out to, or just getting pumped up. Really though I think this band and this song are pretty much generic nu metal. But good none the less.

This song is amazing on so many levels I won't even begin to describe it.

Audioslave – Show Me How to Live Lyrics 17 years ago
I know he really says "hand", but I always thought it sounded like "nail in my HEAD." I'm sure this wasn't his intention, but it made me think of Frankenstein, you know with the nails in his neck, I guess that's kind of like his head (bear with me here). Well I can just imagine Frankenstein waking up and turning to his creator and just being like "wtf do I do now? You gave me life, NOW SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE - before I kick yo' scrawny white ass!" Frankenstein was so pissed that he decided to wrie this song. Then Chris Cornell killed him and stole the lyrics. Seroiously though- Cornell is a serious badass.

Pearl Jam – Go Lyrics 18 years ago
This shit is so funny. Never before have I heard people arguing whether a song is about suicide or about a broken truck. It seems like it's about his truck to me, but I agree that just because a song is about his truck doesn't mean that it has no further signifigance. You know he could have been pissed about his truck and wrote a song that parallels some other idea while still, technically, being about his truck. Know what I mean? Take the song "rats" (also on vs.) for example. I think it is called an "allegory."

Nonpoint – Bullet With A Name Lyrics 18 years ago
Great song, but I honestly thought this was Korn the first time I heard it, I was convinced it was off their new album or something, not that thats a bad thing. I've never heard this band before or any other of their songs but does anyone else think thi song sounds a bit like Korn?

Incubus – Pardon Me Lyrics 18 years ago
ohpioneer is right, the first time I heard this song and especially the "I was having a look in a book
and I saw a picture of a guy fried up above his knees" part I immediately remembered back to a project i did in school about "unexplained phenomena". Curiosly enough, I was having a look in a book and I saw this:

http://www.bonkworld.org/media/img/shc.jpg

Well it may not be a guy but it is somebody fried right up to their knee, and it is some of the best "documented evidence" of the so called phenomena. I think that is what he is reffering to in the song. Oh, and no I don't believe it is real, but it can be found in a lot of books.

The Offspring – All I Want Lyrics 18 years ago
Not much to explain, but I really like this song. Its so short and relentless, it wastes no time. Another creative intro from the Offspring as well. I love a good intro, it makes you want to hear a song right away, too many bands rely on a good chorus.

The Offspring – Self Esteem Lyrics 18 years ago
I really like this song but I think some of you take it to seriously. I think of it more or less as a joke. Yeah its a real problem but the song is just really kind of upbeat musically. I especially like the intro and the following bass line, it draws you right in. I like how the Offspring can confront their problems, or at least realize them, without being whiny.
