Primus – Year Of The Parrot Lyrics
|
this song is a statement on modern music, or even media for that matter. it seems in this age, creativity is a rare thing. people are recycling old songs, old movies and even old stories.
to say this is one of primus's worst, is to say that you are one of primus worst critics. as a band primus had an uncanny ability to maintain unique style and originality. a lot of people give this album shit, but it was merely just another era in the evolution of Primus. |

Primus – DMV Lyrics

bashme1, it is unfair to genralize a band that managed to maintain originality as well as primus does, by saying that all of their songs were influenced be the same muse. fuck you. this song is about the department of motor vehicles amongst other time consuming pointless tasks.
furthermore, theheckler348, i refuse to acknowledge the tapping interlude as a bass solo, its merely just a segue section leading to a guitar solo were Les stretches out and ad libs the rhythms. there is not strumming, and i think it has no right to blow anyone away. |

Funkadelic – Maggot Brain Lyrics

while i am not sure the meaning of the statement at the beginning of this song. i do know that the guitar solo following it (the feature of the song) was influenced by George Clinton telling guitarist Eddie Hazel to "play as if your mother had just died." |

Primus – Southbound Pachyderm Lyrics

first off, yes primus has connections with hallucinogenics, no they dont write every song about it. granted they have songs referencing experiences, this is not one.
it has been explained to me that this song is about viewing a solar eclipse, allthough it may just be about elephants, les claypool is a fucked up fellow. |
