Elbow – Starlings Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song it just....possbily the best start to an album. the lyrics are pure poetic genius, and just catch that feeling of love perfectly...and the music...the music on its own says the same thing as the lyrics, if you took the lyrics away. i can't believe it took me so long to discover the elbow love....what a band. what a song. and what an album! |
Maxïmo Park – Parisian Skies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
it definitely is, it says that in the album bookleet thing. i love the way he sings/says "cracks" at the end of the song...its a really good end to the album how it just goes quiet. |
Tom McRae – I Ain't Scared Of Lightning Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think it's llike he's so utterly defiant about everything that life throws at him, and he's trying to mask how much it all hurts him - "If they gave degrees For cheating destiny Then man I got a first" and he's boasting about how he beats it all, when really it's taking its toll on him "I was born in a summer storm" and it's always been like this, all the way through his life and he "lives there still" - nothings changing. it's an interesting end to a pretty bleak album, and it sounds like he's saying well it all doesn't matter, im coping...but he's really disguising how much all these bad things are getting to him...just what i think anyway |
Maxïmo Park – The Unshockable Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The human heart is on trial for a limited spell The human heart is on offer for a limited spell i like it. |
Maxïmo Park – Girls Who Play Guitars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this...it's just the way paul smith puts stuff.. "In the gaps, inbetween words Are the things that really intrigue me It's the gasps, and the sighs That say more about what's inside you" it might not be the best example but they're such simple things that say so much. love it love it love it! |
Maxïmo Park – By The Monument Lyrics | 17 years ago |
hehe yeah, i think it's probably about that and the metro trains in newcastle, there's a metro stop near monument...another irrelevant comment but the song has a nice image to it, sad though. gotta love the park. |
Jimmy Eat World – Kill Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think the song works cos everyone can fit it to relate to them, and you hear it once and fall in love with it becos it's sad and sweet and beautiful. then you build up associations with it and... it's just loosh. best JEW song |

Badly Drawn Boy – Another Devil Dies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song, especially the first line when everyone's like talking then he comes in and they all cheer... i think it kind of sounds more optimistic than the lyrics suggest it is tho: It seems like we've weathered the storm Without having the privilage of calm good song tho. |
Badly Drawn Boy – A Minor Incident Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the lyrics (to the first verse at least) are really close to the words of Fiona's suicide letter to Marcus in the book About a Boy... this song makes me so sad, but in a beautiful kind of way. i love badly drawn boy. end of. |
Daniel Bedingfield – If You're Not The One Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today ‘Cause I love you, whether it’s wrong or right And though I can’t be with you tonight And know my heart is by your side" its actually beautiful and i love it. |

Guillemots – madeup love song #43 Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Jack Johnson – Cocoon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is like the sweetest song ever, i dont think its as much about a breakup (tho im probably alllll wrong) but about how he loves someone but they dont love him in the same way but are willing to go along with stuf... but he says well id rather not be your regret but your cocoon... and its like he just wants to wrap them up and take care of them so no one else can hurt them at all almost to the point of obsession. and the cause if im betting against you i think id rather lose is so sweet, its like he wont bet against this woman in case she loses... its just... aww. jack johnson is such a legend and this song is my favourite off "on and on". gotta love it |
Caesars – Paper Tigers Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Lostprophets – Last Summer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i associate this song so much with one guy (my ex) who listens to it the whole time and it just reminds me of the days in the last summer.... good times.... but i'll shut up now. anyhow, i love this song, it makes me feel alterantely really crazy and hyper or just so depressed... yeah. |
Jimmy Eat World – Kill Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think jaykay got it in one - i can so relate to this song which sounds stupid, but hey, its true and its a beautiful song. the first JEW i ever heard... i just love it. |
Jack Johnson – The Horizon Has Been Defeated Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah, i agree with kellenwright, this song is about the environment and stuff i guess, but mainly about how modern technology has gone so far that we now know everything there is to knwo and there is nothing tor each for anymore. the horizon has been defeated - the horizon can theoretcially never be reached but we've now reached it. thats just what i think anyway. great song by a great man. |
