I'm lucky that I still have my dad with me. But I can't help think about my best friend who has recently lost her dad last week when I think of this song. What makes it sad is that I have known her and her parents since she and I were both in nursery and they have both been like family to me, as well as good close friends. We're both 26 now. It is just my friend and her mum left now. But they're not alone. Thankfully. her dad was still alive when her baby boy was born just before last Christmas and got to spend precious time with him. It has been a very hard week for my friend and her family and Im always reminded of her dad whenever I hear this song. Whenever I used to call her parents up to chat to them, it was always her dad who answered first and he and I would both natter for ages. He was like a second dad to me and a good friend too. What hurts the most is that I will never hear his voice again on the phone and that my best friend will never see her dad again. She, her parner, her mum and baby boy are all I think about these days. Her dad will always live on through her baby, and I will never forget him. Don't take your fathers for granted because one day they're here, next thing they are gone forever.

One of the best songs by U2. In my opinion, my favorite song by U2 as bono can tell express the doubt that people have when they are trying to seek truth and finding comfort in God. i first heard it after my friend died. i dont think i payed much attention to the song when i first got the platinum greatest hits collection, but when i heard it, it reminded me of my friend when he died and i was sobbing. It's so moving. When me and my mum and my friend went to see We Will Rock You, there was not a dry eye in the house that night. People were moved to tears when the cast sang it. They were fabulous! A fantastic tribute to both freddie mercury and princess diana. thay both would have liked it! |

You've gotta tip your hat off to freddie mercury for being strong enough to go through the process of recording this song and filming the video before he passed away! It is such a beautiful song, im always close to tears whenever i hear it on the radio. It always reminds me that freddie was such a fabulous showman who never looked like giving up whem the going got tough and always had that strong determination to live each day as if it were his last. He looked terribly ill on the video, however he made it seem like he was enjoying what whould have been his finest hour. He is such an inspiration to many and has always been my favorite rock star of all time. Whenever i go up on stage and feel slightly nervous, i think of freddie and what he was like on stage and that draws inspiration in me to carry on. He is so sorlely missed, but he isn't forgotten.
