I think that hendrix wrote that song after he made his first BIG appearance in san fran at this festival. One of the guys who were putting it together made a bunch of this LSD that he called purple monteray.....or something like that. he passed some out to everyone and told them to only take one but jimi being the guy he was took two and was straight fucked the whole time while he was performing......he enjoyed it so much that he was at his hotel later that night and started writing this song but then fell asleep and finished it after he had a dream about god or something. all in all its a great song and jimi weill always be a fucking LEGEND!! |
