Flo Rida – Low Lyrics
|
4. Ever and a Day, who gave you the authority to define what a band SHOULD be? The White Stripes don't have a bassist. Tilly and the Wall have no drummer and a member in the band who tap dances for their percussions. Broken Social Scene has like 5 guitars. Is their music any less valid than what you listen to? Just because it doesn't fit YOUR standard doesn't mean it's any less good. If people like Flo Rida you're not going to convince them that it sucks because it DOESN'T HAVE A GUITAR OH NO. You can't tell people what to like. If you don't like Flo Rida, don't listen to Flo Rida. It's that simple. |

Architecture in Helsinki – Tiny Paintings Lyrics
| 18 years ago

Ahh, one of my favourite Architecture in Helsinki songs. I just can't get over the passion in their voices when they say "fight fight fight" and "white white white." It makes me want to jump up and yell.
What I think it's about is that he proposed to a girl, and she agreed, but won't wear the engagement rings? And everything around them is changing because they know and disapprove of it.
Just a guess. ;D |

Rilo Kiley – The Frug Lyrics
|
I think this song is about a girl who met this great guy, but he has a girlfriend. She hates his girl, and can do all of these things, except fall in love, because he's already taken, and has to keep reminding herself to not fall in love, like catherineks said.
I also think that since she hates his girlfriend, she wants to flaunt herself and tells him all of these things she can do. I think the line "I can take my clothes off/I cannot fall in love" means that she can try to make him love her and be impressed with her body. but she can't fall in love until he's single, perhaps?
I love this song. |

I found another KC Accidental album as well as "Captured Anthems for an Empty Bathtub"... It's called "Anthems for the Could've Bin Pills," and it's also on soulseek. ;D I'd share, but they're not done downloading yet. |

Copeland – Pin Your Wings Lyrics

Abrightlylitcity has a good theory.
I just think that "And you know when it rains in this town I get washed away
Without a sound
So pin my wings down " means that the narrator can get distracted, so she is allowed to "pin him down" and keep him close.
I love this song. |

The Decemberists – The Mariner's Revenge Song Lyrics
| 18 years ago

:D It's nice that he let some songs tell what he wants to get out and lets us sit back and relax to enjoy some tuney storytime.
Insurrection, you're half right.
It IS "after twenty months AT sea," and "it gives my HEART..." but "see your eyes FILL with fear" is correct. :3 |

The Decemberists – The Engine Driver Lyrics

;D It's rather interesting to try to interpret this song in the midst of reading Great Expectations... At least in the first stage of Pip's expectations.
I agree that it's about the writer working on a story to help himself get over a girl that he can't have. I think the "if you don't love me, let me go" lines are him essentially telling her to stop being so captivating if she doesn't love him. Perhaps. :O |

The Decemberists – The Sporting Life Lyrics

Lovelovelove.
I bounce around a lot during this, whether I'm sitting or standing, but then The Bagman's Gambit comes on and makes me calm down, lovely soft song that it is.
But if I'm in the mood, I'll just go back once more. ;D |

The Decemberists – The Infanta Lyrics
|
I love the historical influence of this song~
I think he is showing the Infanta as one who is very full of herself and lives her life rather shallowly and without meaning, which makes me think immedaitely of the stereotypical high school American girl.
Also, the bit "her cradle was pulled from the water" comes to me that like fadetoflashes, I think the Infanta is adopted, showing that she really didn't inherit her wealth and pleasures or benefit from an ancestor, similar to my above statment. |
