Linkin Park – Bleed It Out Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure the song is about the songwriting process in Linkin Park, and how Mike Shinoda has to go back to these hurtful times in his life again to get inspiration for the lyrics (Dig it deeper, bleed it out), only to bring it back to the band and find out that they thing it isn't quite good enough yet (just to throw it away). So he has to go back and start all over again and go even deeper in, to get something better out, and then make the people and things that inspired it more general so that everyone can relate to the song (make you faceless).

He knows going back to these hard times is the only way to get quality lyrics (Can't contain him, he knows it works.)

I dunno there's about 15 different references in there (I don't feel like explaining them all) that when you look at the song from that perspective, you see that's what it's really about.

I think it's "Lead me to heaven when we die" not "Leaving for heaven when we die" and "I will stay in the mess I made" rather than "I will stay unless I'm made"

Breaking Benjamin – Unknown Soldier Lyrics 17 years ago
Literally, I think it's about a guy coming back from a war and trying to figure out how to adjust to normal life again, forgetting what happened during the war, and letting go of the anger he has from it.

But ultimately, I think it can be about anyone leaving a traumatic experience behind them and learning to move on.

Isn't it "I believe that you're trusting me"

Hoobastank – If I Were You Lyrics 18 years ago
1) It's "instead of all that's right"; "rain on my parade"; "thank the stars above for all that I have"; "hard it used to be"; "for you to realize"; "It all could go away"; "tell the ones I love that I do"; "For you to realize"; "is thank the stars above, for the ones I love" Man, this thing got butchered in getting typed.

2) It's about the NHL lockout, and one of the guys from Velvet Revolver. From VH1.com: " 'If I Were You ...' was really inspired by, um, the NHL strike. Not like 'Oh, I'm going to write a song about hockey!' but watching all that — and going on tour with Velvet Revolver — you see all these guys who have so much and don't appreciate it," he said. "They seem to have forgotten where they came from. Actually, let me rephrase that: Four of those guys were the coolest ever, one of them is just in his own world. And I'll leave it at that."
