To hazard a guess I feel like this song is about cheating, basically I get the vibe Joel is saying cheating is not the worst thing, everyone does it. Or perhaps not necessarily cheating but thinking about someone other than your partner in that special way that should be reserved for couples only. Less specifically I think it's about the kind of love that exists in marriages, where you may love the person but occasionally just have to get away from them, for some space of your own, and you may think uncharitably of them. That's just my humble opinion. |
