I dated a girl for 4 years, we promised our lives to each other, we were both in love, she called me her "beautiful mess", because I was clumsy, she never actually called me beautiful except for that. But anyways, she left me for another guy, and I can't move on from her and it's been 2 years, I can't forget her, so this doesn't have to be from a girl's perspective, it can be anybody who's been broken up with and is heartbroken.
Also it's life, people leave people, and yes it's true guys leave girls more than girls leave guys, but at least the guy leaves the girl and then goes after other girls. Females cheat so much more than males. Everyday, whether it's teenagers in month to month relationships, a brand new married couple in their 20's, or a couple that's been married for years in their 30's or 40's, women cheat so much more. At least men have the decency to leave the woman first instead of just cheating.
But I love this song, makes me happy and sad at the same time, she has a weird unique voice. Makes me miss my love. =] |

But this song has heaps of fucking bass, sounds sick with subs. It's catchy as hell, and the chorus seriously gets me pumped everytime I hear it, the rap beat mixed with the original is just sick.

It may be repetitive, but it's catchy and got a nice beat, which makes people money now a days. It's also the fun thing to thump to in a car with a nice system, I mean, I listen to just about everything, but there's no way I'd listen to rock with subs, it sounds ridiculous, and serious rap/r&b is lacking catchy beats & repetitive lyrics, so it's not fun, while rap/r&b like this, is what sounds perfect with a nice system.
I'm sure you either think you're mr. pro listening to either like old rap that's all serious and shit, or you don't listen to hardly any rap and are very narrow minded. |

If I have my events right, at Club Zen, there was a 16 year old girl in the 21 and older club, and she was up on stage with Akon, they were pretty much fucking with clothes on, dry humping, like all over the stage.
Then at some concert of Akon's or something, some guy climbed up on stage or something, Akon called him over, Akon picked him up in a fireman's carry and threw him off the stage.
Then he talks about his life and stuff.
I like the song, but Akon's meaning sucks. The entire song he blames OTHER people for the stuff he did, he blames a bouncer for him dry humping a girl on stage. He just talks about everything he did wrong, blames it on everyone else, then says blame it on me, lol, well obviously we'll blame it on him, it's his fault. Oh yeah, and like I previously stated, Akon is a admitted polygamist, which means he believes in having multiple wives, so anything about his lovers, and girls, you don't know which one it is. hah. |

Heh, I love this song cause Akon just has a sound to him, that "Lonely", "Don't Matter", "I Wanna Fuck You", "Locked Up", sound, and this song just is like them, and I like it alot.
But it makes me laugh alot as well, because well. This is a song about Akon apologizing and yet in the song he blames various other people for things happening, not much of an apology when you're blaming stuff on other people LOL. And the other thing is in the one verse when he says "and how I'm so glad to call you my girl", that whole verse about a "lover". Everyone knows Akon is a polygamist, which girl you talking about? hahhaha.

Okay so apparantly the only relation this song has to the Steve Miller Band's "The Joker", is the bassline, but besides that absolutely no relation.
About the original version of this song, I have almost like 8000 songs on my iPod/comp, I have never heard of Juice Newton, I have heard of Bonnie Tyler. I didn't think she did the original of this song though, I thought it was by The Carpenters. But anyone, the original was definitely "Angel of the Morning", which is a song that is really good, and I love. But this song, I also love as well, I don't like any other Shaggy songs though. |

I think this is a good song. You're right it's no where close to Kashmir's level of amazingness at all. But this version, gets me pumped, it seems to be more "hardcore", and if I'm in a bad mood this song gets me all like pumped up to go lift weights and get all the anger out. The rap pattern fits the drum and guitar riffs perfectly I do agree. I'm still wondering, when that Jimmy Page section was recorded, he's pretty old now, a good 70 years old. I know Jimmy is amazing, but 70 years old and still hitting those same notes? :/ |

Who cares if it sounds like he's being pushy? This is without a doubt, one of the few rap/hip hop songs where I like that it talks about sex. To me it sounds like he's waiting patiently. If he was being pushy the lyrics would be "Give it up to me now", but it's "WHEN you gonna give it up to me?. And then "If not today, must be tomorrow". He was saying that the day before, and it's still not today, so tomorrow, then it still won't be that day, and the day after that, it still won't be, until she willingly gives it up to him.
Either way, this song is amazing. Me and my girlfriend are both virgins and she doesn't want to have sex yet but we both consider this our song for the moment. I absolutely love this song.

I see alot of war references in the last verse. In that first verse I don't get much out of it. The second/third verse seems like it's talking about what America would be like if their were some better choices, or just difference choices per say, because if Malcom X was the vice president, well god knows what would be happening right now. But I think it means, if Martin Luther and Malcom were President and VP then there'd be less racism or more equality in the country.
