Klaxons – Isle Of Her Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Theres a verse thats missing in these lyrics |
Kings of Leon – Arizona Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, these lyrics are wrong from the beginning. I'm almost positive its "Now take" instead of "Now taste". Now taste doesnt even make sense in context. I mean he has a tough voice to understand what hes saying but comon. |
Albert Hammond Jr. – 101 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah i dont think Albert is singing about a torture chamber. I think the highway fits a little better with the song. I always imagined a train for some reason but highway might be more accurate. |
Cold War Kids – Tell Me in the Morning Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah these lyrics are wrong in many other places as well. I'll work on a meaning and maybe some better lyrics when i can figure them out. |
Incubus – Oil and Water Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Hey maxpower511, who the hell are you to say these songs lack origionality. I have no idea where you decided these were "played out metaphors". I've never heard anything about oil and water or diamonds and coal being compared to relationships, and I've listened ot my fair share of music. I think the new Incubus album is a great escape from all the other modern day music. |
John Frusciante – The Days Have Turned Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow those interpretations are really incoherent to me. To me this is a song about what it feels like in life to be down and out. Everything seems to be going against him, nothing is going the way it should. In a way, denali is right, it is broken away from the rest of the world, because when things are going that poorly for you that is how it seems. This song isnt by "his spirits", it is definitly by JF. In many ways his music is broken from the world, but thats because he has been through more experiences than almost any other human being has in their lifetime. The one thing i love more than anything about JF is how he says he does not regret the time he spent addicted to drugs and living in a state of dispair. To him it was a learning experience and now he is enlightened because of everything he has been through. John Frusicante's lyrics have more meaning than any I've ever heard. |
Incubus – Anna Molly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
anomaly: something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified See, the music video of anna-molly by Incubus. This song is sweet, it is obvious from the music video that the lyrics have the double meaning. The anomoly is how the girl is somehow still alive/able to move after being pronounced dead. Anna-molly is the girl that Brandon/the listener always dreams of but can never find. This song is SWEEEEEETTTTTT!!! |
Incubus – Anna Molly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Just because there is no 'anomaly' doesnt mean they didn't intend on the double meaning. |
The Decemberists – The Crane Wife 1 and 2 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
He kinda gave the twist away already considering that part 3 comes before 1 and 2 on the cd |
The Decemberists – When the War Came Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought of Led Zeppelin the first time I heard this song too. It is true, they are very similar in the way they are song, but other than that they arent very similar. Interesting to notice, though. And whats wrong with the way they play this song? I'm glad they decided to "rock out" as you say, it gives it the proper mood for the song. |
Wolf Parade – I'll Believe in Anything Lyrics | 17 years ago |
People if you listen to the lyrics closely and read what the lyrics say above they seem correct. I'm not saying I know the lyrics for sure but if you actually listen closely its pretty easy to figure out what he is saying. As for the meaning, I definitly have to agree with the interpretations that have already been made saying its about deep, sometimes naive affection. The images of the olive tree and the line "I'd take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn" definitly makes his feelings feel pure and peaceful. And the whole "And I could take another hit for you And I could take away your trips from you And I could take away the salt from your eyes And take away the spitting salt in you And I could give you my apologies By handing over my neologies And I could take away the shaking knees And I could give you all the olive trees Oh look at the trees and look at my face And look at a place far away from here" sequence is amazing!! This song is full of energy and emotion. It does seem like there is something that has come in between him and the person who the song is for, and he is willing to do anything to be able to get away from these problems and live a peaceful life. |
The Who – Smash The Mirror Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm pretty sure its Tommy's mother that smashes the mirror out of the frustration that he seems to be able to see himself but not her. |
The Strokes – Ize of the World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I like the image of the "Eyes of the World" being the billions of people watching but nobody doing anything to fix the situation. My favorite line in the song is "Am I a prisoner to instincts or do my thoughts just live as free and detached as boats to the dock?" I love what how his voice progresses during that line. It makes it feel so full of anxiety and emotion. Great song!! |
The Strokes – You Only Live Once Lyrics | 18 years ago |
um, this song sounds nothing like in too deep, even in the intro. In fact, I love how they open the song. For some reason this song feels the most like their old stuff from the new album, although it still definitly has a new style, which is great! |
The Strokes – Juicebox Lyrics | 18 years ago |
sounds like action to me |
The Strokes – What Ever Happened? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the songs name does seem to go with the breaking up meaning though. If this is the meaning, can anyone tell what the two middle verses mean? "Oh dear, is it really all true? Did they offend us and they want it to sound new? Top ten ideas for countdown shows... Whose culture is this and does anybody know? I wait and tell myself "life ain't chess," But no one comes in and yes, you're alone... You don't miss me, I know. Oh Tennessee, what did you write? I come together in the middle of the night. Oh that's an ending that I can't write, 'cause I've got you to let me down." |
The Strokes – What Ever Happened? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It seems like half the song fits the whole media idea (namely the middle two verses), but the other two verses they sing seem to go with the breaking up meaning. |
