I can't say whether or not he's getting divorced but I hope not : ( I don't think the song is about that though- it seems as if he's warning someone he loves and wants to get into a relationship with that he has a lot of baggage and problems. What he is giving away is his heart and soul to his love which is hard for him to do. He has rejected giving his souls to religion and so feels that he must seek refuge in his love for her. That's just my interpretation though ;) |

The words remind me of someone who is falling apart emotionally. It makes me think of when you get so tired and stressed that you can't move and all you want to do is cry. Admit it! lol This is the song that made me find out about the band as well and they changed the way I look at the world so I can't hate it haha. If it weren't for a more radio-friendly song then many people would never know about the band and just b/c a song is radio-friendly doesn't make it bad. Hi Everyone! Wow, finally a place to say how much DMB means to me. Here goes: I am a huge fan of DMB and it is mainly because of this song. There are so many beautiful versions of it and the lyrics to them all are so amazing. When I first heard this song I was alone at my computer and I decided to dance and then the second time I heard it I listened to the words and I cried because it explained how I was feeling at the time - tired of life and like everything had gotten so dull and lifeless. I wasn't suicidal but I was completely depressed. This song and DMB in general has changed my entire outlook on life. There is something amazingly haunting and beautiful about their music that makes you want to dance, feel happy and free and be yourself. My favourite part of the song is this: "there's a stranger speaks outside her door says take what you can from your dreams make them as real as anything it's take the work out of courage but she says, "please there's a crazy man that's creeping outside my door I live on the corner of Grey Street and the end of the world." What's absolutely incredible about this song is it can make you want to dance and yet cry your heart out at the same time. Nobody but a legnd like Dave could do that. Celebrate we will, ~ Grey ~ |
