I love the dialogue in the beginning of the "With Dialogue and Tap Dancing" version:

"Greetings, ladies."
"Hi."
"My name's Joseph. I just rolled into town."
"Would you like to sing a song with us?"
"I believe I do have a song I'd like to sing; it's called 'The Bandit Queen.'"
"Alright. I got a good ear for chords."

Adorable!
I see Colin swaggering into a cowboy salloon in chaps and red leather boots, spitting on the ground and snarling, then settling down on the piano to sing, while Jenny pulls up her petticoat and tap dances on the stage.

But that's just me.

NOFX – Kill Rock Stars Lyrics 18 years ago
From what I read out of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre and Julie Ruin lyrics, Kathleen doesn't hate MEN, she hates the STATUS that men have in society. It's not a personal, "I hate you because you're a man" thing, it's a hatred of the patriarchy and the authority that the patriarchy has -- which I totally agree with.
So Fat Mike doesn't have a right to call her a man-hater without first understanding the point she makes in her music: equality, empowerment, and acceptance.

The whole "freesyle walking" thing...

From urbandictionary.com:
"A sport similar to skateboarding and acrobatics in concept, yet is totally unique. Requires agility and quick thinking. Basically, jumping from/up to great heights, quickly navigating cluttered obstacles, or otherwise showing great physical dexterity on foot."

Maybe having to do with this guy maneuvering around things a boyfriend is obligated to do: talking his way out of dates, breaking promises, etc.
The way he flits around and is fickle and flaky takes great talent, much like the metaphorical "freestyle walking."

Just thinking out loud.

Julie Ruin – V.G.I. Lyrics 18 years ago
Exactly! Especially in the 90's when the "valley girl" attitude was popular, people thought it was acceptable to think of girls associated with that scene as dumb or slutty because of the clothes they wore and the way they spoke.
Fuck that! I can start a revolution in a pink miniskirt!
This song is a fabulous comment about being a Valley Girl & a rockin' feminist.
