Colbie Caillat – Bubbly Lyrics
|
This song can be special to you if you have someone that you love to be around, just relaxing with them, but you don't see them all that often. My boyfriend told me some of the lyrics and said it reminded him of me when he's away at college and I'm still in our hometown. Then he started tearing up. Aww... but then I actually heard this song at school today and then it made me sad because he's like gone. |

The Cure – Friday I'm in Love Lyrics
|
This song reminds me of a situation I have. My boyfriend lives on campus at a nearby college. I don't see him until after I got out of school on Fridays. I get depressed sometimes because I got used to him being around, and sometimes I wish I could sleep through the weekdays until I got to see him on Friday-
I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday Wednesday heart attack
Thursday never looking back
It's Friday I'm in love
Monday you can hold your head
Tuesday Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday watch the walls instead
It's Friday I'm in love
Sounds good. |

This is a wonderful song to listen to. It's calm but Mike's words give it force. I just wonder why there's the part about "Amen, amen"... I like it, I just didn't know they were religious. I guess I'll read the rest of the comments. |

I didn't know they were going to release a new song..but it's a lot more I guess positive than their older stuff. It talks about facing your mistakes and forgiving, rather than just dwelling on them. |

Live – Lightning Crashes Lyrics
|
The oddest thing.. I was listening to this song as I was sitting outside on a very nice day recently, and there were thunderstorms moving in. Near the end of the song, right after he said the line "like the rolling thunder chasing the wind", there was a huge crash of thunder. It's a powerful song. |

Guns N' Roses – November Rain Lyrics
|
When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same...
I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart...
These lines speak to a great many people, myself included. Some people are just too afraid to open up and show how frickin' much they care for their significant other, because they're always afraid of being hurt. Even when the other is holding them close and letting them into their own life.... And some people are afraid to open up because even their best friends, who know them better than any, still do the things to hurt them the absolute most. Therefore, a person might be afraid to give part of themselves for a lover because hearts can change. It makes sense y'all. |

Morningwood – Nth Degree Lyrics

This is just incredibly catchy, and I like it... though I think the band is a load of crap. But anyway, it has a fun melody, fun beat, kind of like a song you'd listen to on the last day of school or whatever and just feel like, wow, I'm free. What a stupid way to put it, I know. |

HIM – Wings of a Butterfly Lyrics

I love this song, because it just has... another kind of melody. It puts me in another place to hear the different pitches and all that... I also like how the guitars are heavy, but the song is still melodic. As for the lyrics, I don't know what to take of it, but everyone seems to have their own idea. |

Blessid Union of Souls – Light In Your Eyes Lyrics

This song will always remind me of my current (and first) boyfriend. My third hour teacher always played this song on a mix C.D. she has, and the day the guy asked me out officially, it was going through my head. Now it always reminds me of third hour, because the girl that sits across from me has the hots for him, and he hasn't done anything about it. It makes me wonder if maybe
All our "I love you's" were just not enough to survive
Something your eyes never told me
But it's only now too plain to see
Brilliant disguise when you hold me...
I've been thinking and here's what I've come to conclude
Sometimes the distance is more than two people can use...
Should I keep on waiting or does love keep on fading away |

My Chemical Romance – Cancer Lyrics
|
This song is so true of what a person with cancer might say- often the person has become more selfless as a result of their disease. They don't want to see their loved ones hurt and that is why they say to turn away. Also, when a person knows they are to die they are likely to say all the things that were tough or awkward to say before- meaning "the hardest part of death is leaving you".
Also, I can tell it would speak to a young person dying of cancer, hence the "I know I will never marry"... it's basically thinking how you will never live an average life, with college, marriage, possibly children, growing old and dying in your 70s or 80s. It's a depressing thought, not being able to write your own history by living it. But that's all the reason to make the time you have already to be the best it can be. |

The Offspring – The End Of The Line Lyrics

It's weird because right after I got Americana one of the teachers at my school, his daughter died, and then I heard this song. Default – (Taking My) Life Away Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I agree somewhat with everyone who has commented.. the "I dreamed of this so long, this used to feel so strong" seems to be about someone finally getting the person they wanted to be with, and they stop liking them so much. And the chorus seems to be "now I wait, wish these thoughts would go away" means the person is waiting for the thoughts of not wanting to be with the person to go away. "I hope I dream of you, 'cause it's taking my life away", seems to be about wanting to longingly wait for that person again, because the stress of being with them when they don't really want to be is swallowing their life and taking it over. A beautiful song, especially with the key change at the bridge. |

Keane – Hamburg Song Lyrics
|
Extremely relevant to my situation, and everyone's comments say it perfectly. He liked me but I didn't like him back for awhile. I started to like him a lot, and he cooled off for me and started liking someone else- without telling me, mind you. And only the day before he asks another girl out he says we don't have to part ways, we can still be friends, and he signs off "friends forever". But the way he only gives that girl any consideration makes me wonder if it's a waste of time trying to be his friend. Sorry for the life story, but I was struck by the similarity of the song to the situation. |

Yellowcard – Only One Lyrics

|
Alright, this song has the power that I can't even describe, even when it was overplayed a couple years ago. Right now, I've just learned that the guy I like likes someone else. Once I got past being weirded out by him liking me, I started to like him, and more or less started to throw my words all around because he made me so nervous to be around. But I saw him in a different light just a little too late. Because he likes someone else, and even sent me a message saying how he's praying for me to find the right guy, and that we don't have to go our separate ways. Yeah, I don't want to lose him as a friend, he's a great guy.. but does he see that it would hurt too much to be around him? This song so describes how I feel, and I posted it on my blog and basically said this is how I feel about you. Because I swear that every word says exactly how I feel. |

I think he feels his ex has screwed him over, and he feels betrayed. It sounds like he just wanted a normal relationship, but his significant other was maybe wild or immoral or whatever (hence "the good and true"). It's quite relatable. And I actually thought this was U2 the first time I heard it.. his voice sounds a lot like Bono's. |

The Verve – Space And Time Lyrics
|
It could definetely be about a long standing relationship that is a chore to both people, because they're both afraid to be alone, but they get no joy from being together. However, they keep trying to work on it because they know there would be a lot of joy. When things don't work out, they are so tired of trying to fix it that they just want the other to say everything's alright so that they can relax about it. But in reality they know that it's no good. They know that all the space and time in the world will not be enough. But they still stick together... |

The Verve – Lucky Man Lyrics

|
This can be about just going through life and sometimes having to relearn something you thought you already knew, but eventually you know it for sure. At first your happiness comes and goes because it is so much affected by other people. But after awhile you learn that sometimes it's just going to be you on your own, and in order to be okay with that you have to be happy with yourself and being yourself. Hence the "Happiness, something in my own place... I feel no disgrace." It's a comforting song when you feel alone and it probably my favorite on Urban Hymns. |

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Especially in Michigan Lyrics

I'm from Michigan, and it's pretty cool to hear a song about where I'm from, and most of my family. And caelae, I see why after nine seconds the song reminds you of "Edmund Fitzgerald", because the way the guitar riff hits the ears, it does kind of sound like it, and the way AK sings. It's an awesome song, and now I can tell my relatives from Hawaii, ahem, that there IS something redeeming about Michigan. |

Pink – I Have Seen the Rain (feat. Jim Moore) Lyrics

This has meaning to anyone who knows of someone who was in the Vietnam War. Like, my uncle served in it and died. It's sad to hear "It's good to be with my friends, it's good to be home again" when that never happened for him. However, this gives you a glimpse at how soldiers feel because Pink's dad wrote this while he was serving in Vietnam. |

Hoobastank – Say The Same Lyrics
|
This is my favorite song on the new c.d. It's a positive message about leaving, because sometimes moving on is for the best, and while it's bittersweet, it's best to look back on the good things that have happened. It also shows the potential of a future meeting because "so much will change". It could even be about dying, because if you have cancer and can't help it, it just means that you are looking back on the good parts of life. |

Okay, Penny Royalty, this song is about something that supposedly happened in 1991 when it was released in 1989... anyway, I always thought it was about a bad boy who hurts a good girl, just like all his bad boy friends. But in the end he feels regret, and that is why he wants to write her name in the sky. He also feels horrible, and that is why he wants to free fall out into nothing and leave for awhile. |

It's definetely about appreciating what you have... though the video shows, like, child custody papers. It could make sense, a father angry that his ex has nothing to do but complain and make life miserable for others. As for Hoobastank selling out- yeah, this does sound like Disappear and some of their other songs, but that's because they are melodic. Is it selling out to make another melodic song, especially if it sounds pretty darn good? |

I don't know... it sounds kind of just like a person who doesn't value theirself, hence the "am I usable?" Mötley Crüe – Home Sweet Home Lyrics

Limp Bizkit covered this song and combined it with a cover of the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony". I think they blend well together, talking about wanting to go home, and then saying how "it's a bittersweet symphony, this life", meaning that longing for home makes it bittersweet. You get it. Has anyone else heard this particular cover? |
