Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics

Ok, so with 540+ comments on this song this must have been mentioned but it may not be as obvious as I think. The main character has killed a man and feels tremendous guilt, inducing paranoia, and seeks help from his mum who is his obvious source of safety. However, in his dreams he seems to be visited by these images, some of them religious (Beelzebub obviously, I'm not so sure about Bismillah, apparently it's a taxi firm Freddie used in Turkey), which hound him and threaten to send him to hell or something of the sort. I can only imagine the last verse to be the character lashing out and defending himself to try and get out of his paranoid state. |

The first verse is kind of how the government / authority / "The Man" disregards and tries to screw youth culture and expects teenagers to all be free of alcohol drugs and crime etc. whereas Dylan is saying that kids should follow their own path. |

Being the lazy soul I am I've not bothered to read through all these comments so I apologise if I tread on anyone's point but I think this song is more about the naivety of Mr Jones even though he is "very well read" and has read ALL of F Scott Fitzgerlads books. Basically, for all his intellect and knowledge and contacts he still isn't respected because he is a bit of a big phony. |
